Just joined so I'm introducing myself.Hello, I have just joined this forum. I am 60 years old and live in a small town in Yorkshire. I work from home and care for my 19 year old son, who still lives at home, and his 21 year old brother, who has just moved into supported lodgings. Both sons have mental health difficulties. I also have three fantastic indoor cats, so you might find me lurking on the 'Pets' forum, and I enjoy walking and reading. I am quite used to online forums, but this one seems much friendlier and more open than others. :)ViewDate:

Mental Health - carer's supportSorry, the final sentence is a bit ambiguous. It is really helpful that there is support here for people who may be experiencing similar situations.ViewDate:

Mental Health - carer's supportHello, I am a carer for my (19 YO) adult son who has profound anxiety disorders and I provide support for his (21 YO) brother who lives in supported lodgings and has autism and psychosis. My problem is that my youngest son lives with me but will not see the GP or seek help and will not apply for benefits or seek work. His problems with anxiety have continued since he stopped attending school at 14. I work from home, but sometimes it is difficult juggling work commitments with de-escalation for my youngest and liaising between my eldest and his support team. I find support on online forums, so it is nice to meet others who are in a similar position.
