57 Semi Retired now so have time on my hands. I like living by the sea. I do a little crafting, as well as crochet and knitting. I like to read. I have just started to take an interest in my garden, I do not have green fingers. I am happily married to Dave and we have 3 grown up children and a lovely 8 year old grand daughter. Looking to make some chat friends on the forum. So say hello the next time you are on there. -

Sibling insultHi Moondancer5, I'm sorry you find yourself in this situation with your siblings. I feel you should bring it up to his attention. He may not realise how hurt you are feeling. If he sniggers at you then you know you tried and you can pick and choose what future gatherings you go too. I'm sure that over the time its easy for them to continue to treat you as the butt of their jokes if they have always done so in the past. But at 60 plus they should know better. Though they are not mind readers so if you can chat face to face with him do or write him a letter telling him how hurt his niece was and you were at his treatment of you and that now you are all getting on in age maybe a bit more respect is called for. Also maybe you could approach your sister first and say the same to her, As a mother or Aunty I would hope she would care enough for you or at least her niece that she would not want to continue hurting either of you. We can choose our friends in this world, we can't choose our family. I wish you good luck and hope it will be sorted. I have lost 2 of my 3 siblings they died in their early 50s so that is what makes me say you should at least try once more with them to try and make it better for you. Take Care Regards CountrygirlbluesViewDate:

Looking to make new friendsGood morning Dee1963, We could be the same age if your call name is true. It's a beautiful day here by the sea in Essex. I hope you have a lovely week ahead of you, drop by for a chat any time . I would love to chat looking for people who fancy general chit chat over a coffee on here so to speak. I will check in most mornings and see if there are any takers for a chat. Take care of yourself and stay safe. Kind Regards CountrygirlbluesViewDate:

First time on here Say helloHi Carriex, I know what you mean. But it would be nice to have a neighbour to pop in for a morning coffee and a chat. So this may turn into the new way of a morning or afternoon chat over coffee/tea. I do live by the sea so enjoy a walk along the sea front on warmer days.. I love seeing people using the beach huts and enjoying the beach. our little town comes alive when the sun comes out. its like a ghost town in the winter. Do you have any hobbies? are you married and have any children? I hope you don't mind me asking questions. Well I hope you have a good week ahead of you. At least the sun is shinning for us today. Kind Regards Countrygirlblues.ViewDate:

Who would you like to see succeed the Queen - Prince Charles or Prince William? It has to be Prince Charles he has lived his whole life in preparation to be the King. He will bring his own views and life skills to the job. I am sure there is a lot more to Prince Charles that we do not know. We have found out so much more of the life of Prince Philip in his death then we the public knew of him before his death. I think Prince William needs to spend the coming years bringing up his young family and get more life experiences so that in time he will be a better King for it. They each have a job o do now . That is to deal with the loss of a parent and grandfather. They have big shoes to fill and follow from the example of our HRH Queen Elizebeth IIViewDate:

Just joined so I'm introducing myself.Good afternoon Simbadog, Menorca lucky you, We have the North sea on our doorstep which is cold. We have to have a good few months of sun to warm our sea up. We had good weather last year and i did go swimming with our granddaughter last summer but will be a while longer before we do that again. I hope you have or will have the vaccine soon so normality does return. My family are waiting on our 2nd jabs by mid May we hope. I bet you have a lot of stories adventures you can talk about all the travelling you must of done in the Air Force. One of the reality tv shows was based in Menorca and it looked stunning, I haven't been there but my husband and i said we liked the idea of visiting it someday after seeing it. Well i had better get on with sorting out the Sunday Roast. I look forward to hearing from you again soon, Have a great week as best we can now a days. Regards CountrygirlbluesViewDate:

Just joined so I'm introducing myself.Good afternoon, First time on here, I thought i would say Hi and see what follows. I'm 57 semi retired. Been at home for the last year with covid lockdown just like everyone else. Lucky to have family living with me so has been easier on me then a lot of others I know. Although we all caught Covid 19 and i had to spend 3 weeks in hospital. We have recovered thankfully. I am looking to make friends to open my circle of friends. You find that when you go out to work you leave the house early and return late so you don't really get a chance to chat with neighbours etc especially in winter you just want to get in and shut the door. Well I thought this may be the place to find like minded people, who have a little more time on their hands. It would be nice to have a chat over a coffee on here. I am happily married with 3 grown children and one lovely 8 yr old granddaughter. So please say hello next time your on and i look forward to making some new friends. I hope you all have a good week ahead of you.ViewDate:
