Have you been happy with accessing NHS care online?Upfront I am not in the UK however I am a nurse. Where I live all health workers are required not by law but by the conditions of employment to have vaccination against hepatitis., Other diseases such as HIV legally can't be requirements, Hepatitis often is deadly whilst being symptom less in carriers, so makes sense for all involved. The Covid vaccine is only being given to health workers at this time and is optional, most aware of the huge percentage of health workers we have lost, unlikely that any health worker doesn't know personally at least one who has died not just had it . Not surprising then most of us are very happy to be offered the vaccine. Important to note we are all part of a vaccine trial, no other vaccines being available except to be part of the J &J trial. I don't think a law is needed, but if you chose to work in a high risk situation you need to comply with the requirements of that choice, to ensure safety for all. So it should be a condition of employment.ViewDate:

Just joined so I'm introducing myself.Hi Purplehat, I live in Magaliesburg on the Gauteng /NW province border. This is known as the cradle of humankind as the caves here have given the earliest humanoid bones. It is also a biospere means an area of national biodiversity. So we are very lucky We came to SA in 1982 to help with the opening of the new JHB hospital, have watched the move from apartheid to democracy. All was well until the corruption which appears to bedevil each African country at so stage. The country is learning the results of state capture and theft in a commission. Even ANC leaders are being brought to court, so with luck we are passing through that stage. I worked in several hospitals both public and private, with a spell overseas in Saudi before setting up a low cost clinic with a local pharmacy. ( Nurses, with extra qualifications, are allowed to diagnose and treat here, referring to GPs and hospitals as required). Day to day is very quiet now Covid regs. stopped me working as over 70s can't work. So I passed the clinic on. May go back once vaccination is complete, we are in the second group which if enough vaccine can be bought will be in May. We have a home with enough land for vegetables, a few chickens.and a few fruit trees The fruit trees feed more of the local bird life than us I enjoy cooking, jam making and preserving. My husband does web designing he taught himself after retiring from radiography. That's quite enough about us, would like to hear about you and yours. Where do you live? What is your life like? Just joined so I'm introducing myself.Hi I was born in UK Leicestershire, came to South Africa to work in the health service, several positions later I have just retired. I am married, due to my husband's high Covid risk we are isolating as far as possible. We live on a small plot, in rural area of national beauty, so lucky, Our son lives in the cottage on the property, I have family in UK, and maintain contact via face book, but by the nature of things it is difficult to be close. I belong to a nursing group and a group watching our corruption commission, sounds boring but varies between comedy, horror and insult. I am looking for friends to chat to over a virtual coffee and cake. my hobbies are cooking, gardening, I have times of cross stitch, knitting and embroidery then the urge passes. We have 4 dogs all rescues, keep chickens and lone survivalist duck. That is a bit about me and mine I look forward to chats and learning about others in the groups -
