Lonely and vulnerable and looking to chatKnowyourworth, Talk to me. I'm here. I live on the west coast of the US. I've had a lot of losses, and they sit with me. I'm trying to learn to better adjust my attitude. I'd like to give out my email address, but having just joined I'm not sure how safe it is to do that one this site. There are so many here who need the support. If we come together we can ease the lonliness. Any one here who is feeling this way, please contact me. I can offer a digital shoulder.ViewDate:

Funeral - what would you do?Since the onset of COVID I do not go to funerals. Many people who have done so have caught the disease and died after going to a funeral, because everyone is not vaccinated. Whole families have nearly been wiped out. If my husband who is quite ill passes, there will be no funeral. It's too risky for others. There are other ways to be supportive: emails, letters, phone calls, etc. In the dark of the night when the grief really hits, and in the following months the needs are greater than at the initial funeral. The ongoing support is very needed. I have very few family members and friends who remain. Most have already passed. It's a lonely feeling. You are not being a wuss.ViewDate:

Writing and publishing booksThank you, Sally, I do have a question about following a thread. The entries are not in date order. Is there a way to fix that?ViewDate:

Writing and publishing booksI'm a published author, both through traditional publishing houses and by self-publishing. There are all kinds of difficulties getting published. In my true story that was traditionally published, the publisher raped it. So years later I rewrote it and self-published it. After writing and publishing twelve books I am now seeking an agent again. I'd given up on that. But this book is too important to me to let languish.ViewDate:

Countdown to disasterThe science is real. The threat is manifesting. Each year now the section of the US that I live in has more fires and higher temperatures. The smoke gets so bad we can hardly breathe at times. Next summer the area I live in could burn. The rainfall is down so much and has been for a while now, that the trees are literally dying. We can't just blame China and the other nations for the pollution. If we buy goods that comes from them, we contribute. If we fly on planes and sail on ships, they dump their garbage in the oceans. Our oceans are dying. Overpopulation is a problem. COVID is cutting some of it down. When the next spaceship stops in and asks me if I want to vacate the planet, I'll say yes and go with them.ViewDate:

Personal Carbon FootprintMy carbon footprint is low too. I since I live in the boonies where there is no public transportation, I do have to drive to town 27 miles away to shop for groceries. My husband and I only do that every three weeks. I order online and have stuff delivered, but that takes gas in the vehicles of the that deliver it. I am very concerned about this all. Yes, governments have to direct this, but most people I know only give it lip service and then do what they want. It alarms me.ViewDate:

Anyone from the United States?I'm from the west coast of the US. I'm hoping to find here that people do not pick on other members. So many sites I've been to end up in verbal brawls. By this age I always hope people have grown beyond that. I look forward to good exchanges with good folks in the US and other places.
