Do you still use cheques as payment?I will still write a cheque if requested by the payee. But normally I prefer to pay by direct debit, or credit and debit card.ViewDate:

Fifty shades of greyLike a lot of the comments below, I am now pure white and many people tell me how much they love my hair and ask how much does it cost! I dabbled in highlights and a dash of rd a few years ago, but my hairdresser who is also my friend, kept saying she wanted me to leave it. And I am so pleased I took her advice. I wash my layered bob every other day and condition so that it looks healthy and shiny. If you have the confidence and a good cut, then stick with the silver/white. I love it personally.ViewDate:

Do you feel lonely?Dear aehall. If you log on to the U3A site you may well find one in your area. The University of the Third Age are volunteer organisations based in various areas all over the UK. Within each organisation are groups of interest, eg languages, theatre groups, archeaology, creative writing et al. It costs about £10 to join and most areas have monthly meeting where you can meet like minded over 55 s. Give it a go and you will be on the way to meeting new people. Good luck.ViewDate:

Barometer Survey shows the over 50s have strong views about BrexitI was a young woman when the 1972issue of joining the EEC was put to the nation. I voted Yes but basically for free trade. I am now horrified at how much money is ploughed into the EU with what appears to be very little return. As for immigration, don't even go there. Actually, I am still undecided as to whether or not to exit. We are closely tied to Italy in that we have property over there. But, and this is a big but, we have absolutely no rights there as we are not residents. We have a bank account that rips us off each month for having money deposited. It is illegal to have a house and utility bills without setting up a bank account. We also pay higher taxes than residents as we are classed as 'stranieri' (foreigners). So I will ask of our Silversurfers community, what do you think is the benefit of our remaining in the EU. We would be in the same position I feel as if we were out. In Italy, it is also required for hotels and B&B to register any visitors with the local police, even though we are members of the EU. This has not changed since before membership. So, once again, what is the point of being part of the EU? Your comments would be welcome.ViewDate:
