Should Britain stay in the EU or is now the time to leave?Grandads Shed - I have to agree. I, too, have been concerned with the migrants/refugees behaviour at particular spots - like refusing to accept food in Hungary because of the cross on the boxes, pictures of so-called family men also pictured as terrorists. The real danger that I can see, now, is that some of these terrorists will slip through the net in the vetting procedures. IS have boasted that some of their members are already in Europe. The only way this will stop is by getting to the root -send troops into Syria, sort it out once and for all. Incidentally, Obama is very quiet on this. The US have said they'll take 10,000 - what is that to a country that size? But perhaps they know something we don't. Let's pray there isn't another 9.11.ViewDate:

Should Britain stay in the EU or is now the time to leave?Unfortunately, up until now at least, the European Union has been a contradiction in terms. Very little unity has existed between member states and at the present time, the leaders of Germany and France seem to hold sway over what other countries need. I remember voting no in the early 70's and I stand by that now. Then as now I felt that we have little in common and trade seems to be the only thing that people wish to stay in for. I feel that we let our Commonwealth allies down and should have built up our trade agreements with them - we all speak the same language at least. Now is an interesting time. With migration affecting all its members, suddenly there is some sort of united, if negative, thinking. This issue is not going to go away - to prove its worth the EU needs to get to the root of the problem. We are all affected. The migrants are leaving for different reasons - many are Christians, threatened with death. This is not reported by the media. Others are fleeing from corrupt governments. The EU can help to a point, but each country is watching its own back. The UK can take only so many - a united front in the EU can help. This is a test - for humanity, compassion, the values that we, in Great Britain have been brought up on. Our continued membership of this group could well hinge on our own response to this crisis. Who we are as a country and what we stand for, but how we act together, could very well determine our own future. We have to decide who we are and what we believe in.
