Windows 10 does anybody use it?I was happy with WIN7 but wanted to try WIN10. It appeared that my graphics card was not suitable, so I shopped around and {already having an Acer netbook}, bought an Acer Z3 615 all-in-one PC. I successfully updated from WIN 8.8 to WIN 10....which then wouldn't recognise my excellent Canon Pixma printer/scanner on my LAN. I went back to WIN 7 on my old HP Pavillion, and put the new Acer back in the box. Acer sent me a questionaire about the Z3 615 {hoping presumably for praise}, which I completed, telling them that it was.... {and why it was}....gathering dust on the stairs. There was, of course, no response.........so that's one expensive PC. just waiting for a place on Freecycle. End of my association with WIN 10.....and Acer! Ian C.ViewDate:

Should smoking be brought back into pubs? How do you mean "take me to task"? Yes I was paid, except when playing on charity benefit occasions. The money didn't do more than cover my expenses. I played because I enjoyed doing so, and every venue allowed smoking, so there was nowhere else to play. I really do not understand how playing for nothing would have saved me from the stink of smokers.ViewDate:

Should smoking be brought back into pubs? How has the smoking ban killed live music? Loud solo 'singers' with louder backing tracks are one of the main reasons for the drop in attendance by music lovers......note the use of the modulator 'music'. Scattered and desultary applause doesn't worry these 'artists'.....who see their £120.00 plus payout at the end of the night as their just reward for shouting their way through a few songs. Agents demanding higher and higher fees are also basically inherent to the problem. From long personal experience on the live side of the microphone, I reckon that most bands and other entertainers would be happier and healthier in a smoke free atmosphere.ViewDate:

Should smoking be brought back into pubs?Well said, Dickens, I played guitar in pubs and clubs for many years, and during the week had to air my clothes and equipment to rid them of the smoker's weekend stink......and I smoked at the time! Smokers trying to kick the habit are now relieved of some of the temptation to start again....the big tobacco companies will campaign against the ban, but the hospital cancer wards and Macmillan nurses may welcome the lower caseloads!ViewDate:

Should smoking be brought back into pubs?I have supported UKIP from their inception, even sending a donation early on. This smoking idea seems to me to be just a cheap vote-catcher, so I'll go back to staying away from politics until every MP is an independant.
