Ginge and whingeUndoubtedly he had detrimental and difficult childhood experiences, and has struggled as an adolescent and young adult, nonetheless he had the best access to support and therapists alongside far fewer worries or stresses faced by the average person of the same age. He seemed such a nice young man, and Invictus Games are amazing!!!!! Unfortunately the once approachable, fun, and caring man seems to live an even more 'in the limelight, ,confused and self absorbed life these days insisting he's so happy as a family man, yet moaning and complaining constantly., All this 'poor me', 'Meghan says.........', 'everyone is against us' comments - not a good look Harry! Man up, shut up, and stop hurting people you know won't fight back publicly for various reasonsViewDate:

Are you keen to go back to your workplace or do you prefer to work from home?Unfortunately I can't do the most important and fulfilling part of my work from home - meeting people, Eventually I will have to return. However, those I work with are in vulnerable groups, and safe meeting locations would have to be arranged - lots to think about (including early retirement as I'm 66 next year)ViewDate:

Do you feel that freedom of speech is becoming restricted in the UK?Never in my life have I been homophobic, racist, bigoted, or of the belief that I am better (or worse) than anyone else.......... I advocate for people with disabilities, I contribute in time or money when I can, to causes and marginalised communities or groups. Yet, nowadays if I pass comment or inadvertendly use an outmoded term of description or recognition I am a bigot, a homophobe, racist or discriminatory....... .NO I AM NOT!!!!! What I am, is sick of people telling me what and how to think, How I should evaluate and make decisions, or being restricted from using my own sense of fairness and understandingViewDate:

Will you be visiting your local pub this weekend?I'm in Scotland and our pubs won't be open until later' but I won't be rushing to a pub or resturaunt any time soon. I have a birthday looming and have declined a family offer to go out to celebrate. Also, there's a certain chain of pubs whose owner treated his staff so badly at the outset of lockdown that is definitely off my future list of venues. When I do decide to go out for a drink and/or a meal, it will be to a local family owned place that contributes to our communityViewDate:

Are we on a countdown to chaos?Ministers who are too lily-livered to insist or legislate for safety measures, selfish idiots who believe they are invincible, and no one considering the strain these mass gatherings put on the same Key Services we were applauding just a few weeks ago. To say I am disgusted would be an understatement! We have family that are liable to be shielding until September/October, I can't return to work because of the vulnerability of clients, and would be considered a potential 'super spreader' as I travel by public transport, and although not 70 - I'm still considered 'older'. I think what disappoints me more than anything is the way all hopes for a better 'new normal' seem to have been dashed and written offViewDate:

Are you hoping to go on holiday this summer or are you feeling hesitant?I love my foreign holidays, but will not be planning anything until early 2021. Even a staycation in August (which was pre-booked) is under debate. Nonetheless, it would be nice to have things to look forward to again, but I'm content to abide by First Ministers direction and guidance for a while yet. With family that are shielding my biggest hope is that everyone remains safe and wellViewDate:

Are you having weird or vivid dreams during lockdown?Yes -so vivid and some make me really anxious! This morning was about a lady I've not seen for years (she will be approaching 70 now) but in the dream she having a baby and abandoning it for me to care for.......others involve me being lost (not unusual as I have no sense of direction), however, the latest one was on The Great Wall of China :) I can laugh now, but don't like waking up feeling anxiousViewDate:

Are you hoping to go on holiday this summer or are you feeling hesitant?I missed out on a family break over Easter - but no complaints, I'd far rather we were all safe and well. Yes, I definitely hope to visit the Canaries early in 2021 - but only if it is safe (and affordable) to do so. I don't think border controls have been well managed, and will need more evidence that effective measures are in place before I board any plane or ferry.ViewDate:

Should controversial statues around the country be removed?I wouldn't be totally adverse to some statues being placed in museums, or having plaques attached - but ultimately, we cannot change history-we can only learn from it. However, this must be done in a balanced way and should educate and inform people of all colours and creeds about white slavery, child labour, suffragettes, Highland clearances, religous persecution, and all manner of elites exploiting and abusing others worldwide to ensure their ongoing prosperity. Sadly, in this regard, history is repeating itself, causing division and allowing the self imposed entitled elites to continue to prosper at awful human costViewDate:

Should Dominic Cummings resign? He's an arrogant disgrace! I can't believe a career couple like this don't have childcare at their finger tips-and can access it easier than single parents or essential workers on limited budgets. Lies are being compounded and we who have sacrificed so much, are being made a mockery of for our efforts, Any Govt that has been instructing and pleading the case to Stay Safe, Stay At Home, Save NHS, will be viewed as mutineers and traitors to the population if they accept Cummings varying stories and allow him to stayViewDate:

Are newspaper stories to blame for destroying lives?I have answered No because I;m currently focused on younger people - who don't buy newspapers BUT reporting on social media is definitely a factor as is this cruel mind bending fascination with Reality TV - which is so far removed from 'reality' it can't be measured!!!!! I personally stopped buying daily papers when I really didn't want to know whose toes Fergie was sucking.......but now with media options kids (and others who are older) are blasted with such news - I've never watched the Jungle....but get it on Breakfast telly, Big Brother - no thanks- bit it's everywhere.......now this beautiful young woman has committed suicide, what a tragedy - time to get real!ViewDate:

Is Labour's new WASPI promise credible? The money was there-there was a surplus in NI Fund which was 'misappropriated' to reduce national debt and failures caused by Bankers & Governments - why should a generation of women be scapegoated for this? I have no objection to pension age increasing - but it could have been done in a staged fashion with adequate information provided well in advance - in my case I had a letter in the 90's saying I could retire with pension at 62 years 4 months, followed by one advising I would qualify for SPA at 67! Both of these were followed by a 3rd missive advising me to dismiss previous correspondence sent in error.......Approaching 65 now with 50 years full contributions and working full time-all down to a dire DWP system and governmental theft over many years!ViewDate:

Will you be voting in the European Elections this month?I've said NO but doubt if my conscience will allow me not to vote given all the brave sacrifices made to allow us to vote and have our say. Nonetheless, I am so disgusted by all we have endured and been subjected to over recent times, that I genuinely feel none of the parties deserve my support....such a dilemmaViewDate:

Should more people plan for their death? It's the one thing we can be sure of coming round! I've tried to avoid landing my son with a lot of problems and difficult situations since he was born; why would I not continue in this vein-especially considering that losing a parent is an emotional time. My later life, and funeral plans were discussed together and paid for in advanceViewDate:

Should we use Happy Holidays instead of Happy Christmas?Holidays is derived from Holy Days - however, the dilution seems to have become terribly 'Americanised and consumerist' I think. I'm not a practising anything - but I am still a bit traditional when it comes to identifying which holiday/holy day I am celebrating (or not), in my own way; and my preference is for a Merry or (Happy) Christmas & Happy (or healthy & peaceful) New YearViewDate:

Is it ever OK to eat dogs?Although I say an emphatic NO - I am only speaking for myself and the culture I have been brought up in; and of course I also love pets. Horse meat, veal, venison, beef, liver & kidneys (from any animal), may be as appalling to others who eat dogs, whilst others may prefer grubs and insects - the thought of which makes me want to throw upViewDate:

Should 'wet wipes' be banned?No-but inconsiderate disposing of them (along with cotton buds, fat/grease etc.) should stop.......Sadly I fear tho' that it's a bit like trying to stop litter louts....some people just don't careViewDate:

Would you buy products after their best before date?Smell & feel tell me what's fresh and what's not, and if bread or cheese is mouldy - it's not getting used. I have knowingly used tinned goods, spices, and some other larder items despite a date suggesting I shouldn't; but commonsense, awareness, and the lack of any desire to go poisoning folks would prevent me using highly smelling fish/meat, sour dairy products etcViewDate:

Have people forgotten the true meaning of Christmas? If 'the true meaning' refers to a virgin birth from within a non Christain land or celebrating pagan rituals; I'd say yes. However, if a true reflection of what the time of year means to many is that we are reminded of others and of their suffering, and we donate/offer/do what we can because it is the season of goodwill, I would say no. I am no Bag Humbug, and I respect everyone's right to follow their own path and religion as long as others are not harmed. I love the nativity, I crumble when children sing Away in a Manger, and I have enjoyed visiting holy and revered sites and places in Bethlehem, Malta, Rome, Scotland, Spain, England, and other countries-often being humbled and moved along the way. Albeit I am not a practising member of any church; for many years I have used this time of year to 'do my bit' for local and other charities; and this year I am heartened to note that many friends have donated to children's charities and/or the local food bank, or another charity of choice instead of posting lots of cards or cutting back on the amount of gifts they buy - much to the relief of some who cannot afford to reciprocate. Of course some kids get far too much; and of course some will be paying off debts into the new year - but I can only speak for myself-and my friend's 10 year old Grand daughter who asked on her list "That no more children anywhere will starve"......Best wishes to all for this wonderful season xViewDate:

Does nostalgia keep us from appreciating the present?Thinking back to freezing bedrooms, 1 bath a week, and times when we couldn't travel so widely, and women faced such a number of ridiculous restrictions, makes me appreciate the home comforts and freedoms I have enjoyed over time. However, I often also yearn for the people and places I loved so much; but this seems ok and natural, and doesn't detract from me looking ahead and hoping for good (better) times aheadViewDate:

What is the greatest challenge to good mental health in later life?I doubt there is one single or dominant factor; e.g. Poor health or diminished mobility can lead to isolation/loneliness, and lack of finance mean that taxis and outings are prohibitive.....all of which collude to lower mood and self confidence. Good neighbours, feeling safe where you live, regular chats (even by phone or internet), and keeping the brain active (Crosswords, competitions, quizzes etc.) can help......but there's no doubt about it, people's mental health appears very fragile these days-for a whole variety of reasonsViewDate:

Should there be a financial incentive to recycle?I have always 'upcycled or recycled' i.e. WW11 Make Do & Mend, and there are cash recycle centres too. I know of other countries that do as we once did, and give refunds on glass bottles etc-why this stopped I am unsure. I am also confused as to why some people consider these as new initiatives?ViewDate:

When do you stop buying Christmas presents for nieces, nephews and godchildren?I was the 'baddie' who instigated this some years ago when numbers were approaching 40......Thankfully none of the 'kids' were neglected or poorly catered for, so this helped, and I would let them know which charities I was donating to in their name. Most were fine with this although one comical nephew did huff a bit and said "Oh thanks, I always wanted a share in a goat" :) However, he is now one of the funniest and kindest young men I know. To be honest, all the parents were glad someone else suggested cutting back, and a lot of stress was removed - so no you are not being unreasonableViewDate:

What am I doing wrong?Hi TaxJudge - I don't think you're doing much wrong; maybe worrying a bit too much is all. It sounds like you have a caring but independent family, a choice of company should you want it, and one special person too - that's a healthy mix. Maybe your current state just calls for a change of scene, a volunteering morning, or a holiday in a new destination, maybe even finding a challenging but enjoyable hobby, or some pampering time to let the joy come forth. I most certainly am not 'happy' all the time, but I am regularly reminding myself that I have to be grateful and appreciative; my independence means that any choices I make will be mine - as will the outcomes. Good luck, and I hope you might successfully try something new or different. As one wise man said "Happiness is not around us, it is in us"ViewDate:

Do you think Princess Beatrice and Eugenie should be given royal duties? No - I think a job training course would be better - they've had a good education and must have some strong connections, so independent earning shouldn't be too difficult for them to achieve
