Is Harry delusional and totally lost his perspective? He seems perfectly OK to me. I would just have walked away with my £80m but he feels it is necessary to put his side of the story. I have no time for the monarchy and wish the whole of them gone but he appears to be perfectly normal and able to put his points across very well. No idea why people dislike him and his wife but it seems to be a marmite situation. You either love them or hate them. I hope now he just gets on with his life and leaves us republicans to figure out how to get rid of the rest of the family.ViewDate:

Have you noticed more mouldy food on shelves since the removal of 'best before' dates? Not just on shelves. We only shop once a week and use the 'use by' dates to ensure the food would last at least 5 days. Now we have no way of knowing so end up with food going bad within a day or two as the supermarkets are using the lack of dates to dump old food. We now shop for fresh two to three times a week which wastes time and fuel.ViewDate:

Do you support the vote for Nurses to go on strike over pay?I worked in the NHS. All non-management staff are underpaid but especially nurses and hca staff. They should not need to strike to get an inflation based pay rise but I fully support them as they have no other alternative.ViewDate:

The Crown: Should Netflix do more to ensure viewers know it's fiction? If you do not know it is a fictional TV program by now what on earth is wrong with you.ViewDate:

Would you like to see imperial measurements return? They never went away. We all use pounds, stones, pints, miles, etc. Our systems are a mixture of both so what is the issue.? Business needs to use metric to export and meet world standards but day to day life is a mixture of imperial and metric.ViewDate:

Are slugs welcome in your garden?Never kill anything in my garden except weeds. It would be different if I was dependant on growing veg but it is a hobby and i am not going to kill something just for a few carrots. Nature is retreating all round us and there is no reason to kill any creature in your garden.ViewDate:

Older grandchildren who never say Thank Your for Christmas or Birthday chequesIf i give them money personally they will say thank you but not for money in post/cards or bank transfer. Does not bother me as they are all lovely kids/young adults. I dont give expecting thanks tbh. I just want them to enjoy life.ViewDate:

Should Matt Hancock resign over reports of an affair with his close aide?He should resign because of the corruption of handing contracts to tory donors and friends but not for having an affair. Unless he recruited her after the affair started .ViewDate:

Is a second national lockdown for vulnerable over 50s the right way forward? What on earth is a 'vulnerable over 50'? I am nearly seventy. Just getting over cancer after two years of treatment. Spent 3 weeks in ICU on a vent last October. I carry on as normal. We go shopping, walk the dog, go out for meals. Is someone going to tell me to isaolate because I am classed as vulnerable? Most over 50's, over 60's and over 70's I know are healthy and full of life. Some people may need to isolate, although I am not convinced it does them any good, but the vast majority of us are carrying on as normally as possible. We are good; stop patronising us because of age. And no, I do not agree with continuous lockdowns; they just kick the infection can down the road.ViewDate:

The day afterReally not that different. We live in the country so Covid has not really impacted us. Obviously we wear masks but apart from that life carries on quite normally. Pubs opened up a few weeks ago and restaurants are open. First thing would be to book flights to see grandchildren in Uk and Netherlands.ViewDate:

Should wearing a face mask be compulsory in shops?Masks do NOT prevent you getting Covid-19. Masks only prevent you passing on Covid-19 to others thru sneezing and coughing. Therefore they are only helpful if everyone you come into contact with is also wearing a mask. Wearing a mask in a store where no one else is wearing one does not protect you, it protects others from you. It is a community action but needs everyone to use one to be effective Masks need to be regularly changed and disposed of or washed if reusable. .Came thru Manchester airport; no one wearing masks even in security. No one is listening to the govmt so do not see how they will enforce policy on masks..ViewDate:

Moving to a new townWe moved to rural Ireland and it sounds very much like rural Norfolk. We have a beautiful house on the coast but it is difficult to make friends. Everyone is friendly but families have known each other for generations and it is very difficult to break into that shared history of people and events. Things from 50 years ago are still discussed as if it was yesterday. You do end up socialising with other 'blow-ins' as we are called and yes many people only stay a few years. My advice would be to rent for a year or even six months thru the winter to ensure it is what you want. The problem we have is that my wife loves it here but I have not really settled in three years. Also house prices where we used to live have escalated dramatically and we would struggle to even afford the house we had as there is no house price inflation here. Be very careful.ViewDate:

Lord Jim by Joseph Conrad - 1900To be honest ,I have never been able to finish a Dickens novel except at school when I had to. The style of writing and the over wrought characterisation just does not gel with me. I know he is hailed as a writer but I often wonder how many people actually finish his books. But then I cannot stand Shakespeare either.ViewDate:

Older grandchildren who never say Thank Your for Christmas or Birthday chequesDoes not bother me at all. We send money to our 4 because we want to and in most cases it is the parents who tell us they got the card not the children. We are good with that. it is our choice and we do not expect thanks. We know how much we mean to them when we meet them so we are happy with that.ViewDate:

Do you buy a daily newspaper? Most of the MSM is just a conservative propaganda machine. I have no interest in their unbalanced articles so do not buy daily newspapers. For many years we bought the Mail and Times each day but stopped about 5 years ago. We continued to buy the Sunday papers but we have just about stopped that as well. I get my news online from several sources as I try to read as wide a range of views as possible. Cannot see me ever buying a daily paper on a regular basis ever again.ViewDate:

Do you see the World changing for the better once the threat of Covid-19 has left us?No I do not. Nothing during my lifetime has changed the world for the better. Human nature and big business always take over. So things will just go back to the way they were although we may have a cleaner world for a few months.ViewDate:

Are you worried about Interest Rates for savers and pension funds?Yes of course. All our private pensions are invested in the stock market, bonds , equities etc. When the markets fall the value of our pension investments fall especially if you have a SIPP. We can only hope that it is not a long term fall as many of us do not have the years left to wait for a recovery. Even company pensions and state pensions will be frozen over the next few years to allow funds to rebuild. So yes worrying times. And if you are not worried, you do not know what's going on.ViewDate:

Is it realistic to expect over 70s to remain in their homes for 4 months?Completely unrealistic. I am classed as high risk as well due to cancer and recent ops but I couldn't stay at home for 4 months. We have no one to shop for us and there are no deliveries where we live. We have to go out. Like most people we know we will continue to walk the dog and shop but obey social distancing rules. No clubs or meals out but for the sake of our mental health we need to get out.ViewDate:

Chronic insomnia - does anyone else suffer?I have given up worrying about it. I now normally stay up until 1.30 am/2.00am. I then find I can get around 4 to 5 hours sleep. I sometimes get up for a cup of tea around 3.30 as well. The lack of sleep does not seem to cause any issues as I am usually up before 8.00am for the dog and cats. So I assume I just do not need much sleep any more.ViewDate:

Should women only carriages be introduced on trains at night?BTW ,I am a man. It would be difficult to police but I think women should be able to travel at night without being bothered by drunks etc. There is also a level of safety involved in a carriage with other women and cctv. As a man I do not like to admit it, but there are some real nasty men out there who take any opportunity to hassle and molest a lone female.ViewDate:

Should smoking be brought back into pubs?As a smoker , no. Smoking should not be allowed anywhere where people are eating or non-smokers are around. However I cannot see why we cannot have smoking rooms in pubs as long as we have standards of air conditioning etc which prevent any impact on other users. Trying to blame the demise of pubs on the smoking ban is nonsense. Pubs fail because there are just not enough customers who want to drink every evening to keep them alive and because they are often nasty environments. Might as well blame the drink drive laws. The world is changing and old style pubs are just a casualty of then change in habits.
