Is it ever ok to buy an item of clothing, leave the price tag on, wear it once and return it?Certainly not. One reason being that the retail industry is struggling as it is. Town Centres are becoming wastelands.. We are complaining about the shops closing in town centres so why make it worse by denying them their profits and more importantly people their jobs. Anyone who does this or even condones this practice are, in my opinion, acting very selfishly.ViewDate:

NHSI totally agree. Injuries or conditions received during additional activities or non medical procedures should be covered under an insurance scheme or some form of medical insurance. The NHS has enough to cope with without having to support the additional costs created by this situation.ViewDate:

Inclusion versus decency and equality.Absolutely. I’m surprised that nobody has challenged our posts. I feel that the majority accept and agree with them. It’s only a matter of time before someone picks up the baton and leads a campaign to correct the imbalance we have now. Will definitely get my support.ViewDate:

Inclusion versus decency and equality.Basically if it swims on water, has feathers and quacks, it’s a duck. What you were born as will never change who you are. For god sake what is going on in our green and pleasant, or not so pleasant now, land. Black Lives Matter. Trans lives matter. No !!!. All lives matter. Stop trying to make us all coffee coloured gender neutral vegetable eating zombies. Let’s promote our own identities as we we’re supposed to be. I’m proud to be a white heterosexual meat eating Englishman.. Is that so wrong?ViewDate:

Ginge and whingePrincess Diana would be so sad to see that her son has been so manipulated by the devious, calculating, attention seeking witch Megan Markle. She set out to snare a prince to advance her own interests and dreams at the expense of The Royal Family and Prince Harry. She’s an actress, not a a particularly good one, but more than capable of pulling the wool over the eyes of many. She doesn’t deserve the title of Duchess and should be stripped of it.ViewDate:

Paying tax on our state pensionI chose to work on for 18 months and deferred my State Pension payments. This means that my basic State Pension is more than then standard pension. I paid tax on what I earned but now find that I am paying income tax on my pension. I chose to continue with work to help my previous employer who was struggling after the lockdowns, but now I’m being punished for my actions. I know several other people in the same situation. Is this really fair? Typical Tory’s. Tax the lower and middle classes to benefit wealthy!!!ViewDate:

Do you let your pet sleep in your bedroom at night? Why not. Our fur son is a member of our family so has the free run of the house. I admit it’s sometimes a fight for the quilt but I have that with the wife too The love he shares with us is wonderful so no way would we make him sleep away from us.ViewDate:

Are you considering 'unretirement'?I realised that I needed the mental stimulation so after being chased by several agencies on LinkedIn I looked into the possibilities in freelance work. It’s great. I can pick and choose when and who I work for. The money is great. In fact I have to be careful not to earn to much to keep me under the 40% income tax threshold. My mental health also benefits along with my bank balance. Personally I recommend it.ViewDate:

Do you feel confident overtaking HGV's on the motorway?I understand that we have to have HGV’s on the roads and that they play an important part in our economy but that doesn’t excuse the fact that hauliers do abuse the system and drivers are left exposed and at risk because of this. Equally we have the generic rep’s on the road in their company cars that weave in and out of the traffic fighting for that extra space along with your white van man. This cocktail of arrogant driving is the route cause of the problem’s on the road and by applying restrictions to the bigger vehicle’s, HGV’s, Coaches and large vans, would, in my opinion, make the motorway’s safer for all.ViewDate:

Do you feel confident overtaking HGV's on the motorway?Even though I feel confident overtaking HGV’s on the motorway’s, I do so with caution. Personally I feel that they should be restricted to the inside and first lane on the smart motorway’s to allow more movement of faster smaller vehicle’s. Equally I feel that the larger van’s bigger than say a standard transit van, should also be restricted to the inner lanes. They should also have their speed limited to a maximum 60 mph. How many times have you been on the motorway’s with a large, generally white van, tailgating you in the outside lanes at 70 mph.ViewDate:

Would you be happy to give or receive a pre-loved gift for Christmas? Why not. If it was something I wanted I can’t see the issue. It’s good for the environment too. Admittedly I would be annoyed at something that was damaged or broken with no thought out into it but if it was a treasured item from someone who wanted to pass it on then fine.ViewDate:

Should Scotland be an independent country? We are supposed to be the United Kingdom for Godsake. Can we not just all pull together and make this country great again. If we are going down this route then let’s all have a say in a referendum. At least then the whole country can be involved and not just the fanatics who’s soul aim is separate the Kingdom. We can then move on and stop all this self destruction.ViewDate:

Will you be downloading the new tracing app today?Sorry Honestjohn but absolute rubbish. The government is trying to save lives, albeit somewhat chaotic, but that is the aim. It’s certainly not a ploy to get you to get a better phone. This is my point. Some of our older generation have the attitude of ‘Why should I and who’s going to pay.’ Get a grip for god sake. We are all in this wether we like it or not. Just listen and follow the guidelines and hopefully most of us will live through this.ViewDate:

Will you be downloading the new tracing app today? As far as the government is concerned, I wouldn’t want to be in their shoes having to make the decisions they have to make. I agree not all the decisions suit us all but then they never will. Back to the app I stand by what I have said. As far as affordability is concerned, perhaps a small change in your weekly budget would be all that’s necessary to help protect yourselves. Anyway. Stay safe and well all.ViewDate:

Will you be downloading the new tracing app today?Who said I had an all singing all dancing phone. I have a basic smartphone that comes with my contract. It copes very well with the NHS Track and Trace app. Keeping myself and my family safe is worth every penny it costs. I feel a lot of it is “I’m not being told what I can and can’t do” Don’t tell me it’s not, I’ve heard it many times already. For pity sake people, this is not a game. What’s more important, your life or your outdated opinions.ViewDate:

Will you be downloading the new tracing app today? It puzzles me that a large number of you who had to shield from COVID and complained that your liberties were taken away. Now we have an app that could probably help you to move around more freely yet you still complain about big brother watching or my phone is to old. What do you guys want. Can’t we just accept that we all have to be flexible in our attitudes and try and defeat this awful virus by pulling together and embracing any advice and technology that could help save lives. Yes I’ve downloaded the app. Yes I will follow it’s advice. Yes I will abide by government advice. Is it that difficult?ViewDate:

Will you be visiting your local pub this weekend?Absolutely NOT. I too would prefer to enjoy a beer or wine that I prefer in my own surroundings with the people I would rather be with, not in a noisy area with people trying to talk over each other, having to queue at the bar with idiots who have to be served before anyone else and have no respect for other people’s space..ViewDate:

Are we on a countdown to chaos? What the h€%l is going on. Somebody please take responsibility for running this country and let’s get it back under control. Don’t threaten to close the beaches, CLOSE THEM. Stop the football. It’s, as usual, favouring the Premier League. If the other leagues can’t complete their seasons why should the Premier League. What’s going to happen when the pubs reopen. A few drinks inside some of these idiots and god knows what will happen. Also the protesters supporting BLM and LBGT gatherings. I respect your beliefs and feelings so please respect ours by following the advice given. Or should we consider a White Straight movement to protect the majority of the population. And I still can’t hug my grandchildren!!! Is this the way to carry on ??? God help us.ViewDate:

Is it too soon to resume Premier League football? As much as I enjoy a good game to watch I cannot understand the necessity to complete the football program for this season. I still can’t visit my own grandchildren or father in there own homes yet nearly 30 none family members can run around a football pitch with no social distancing on or off the pitch. Surely this is a case of money talking again. Is it really worth the risk?ViewDate:

Should controversial statues around the country be removed?Hi. In response to Shelfside to my post. I am grateful for your response and I agree with the fact that if he was a white man we would not be having the debate.. I did not know about George Floyds past criminal record and have to admit I am shocked at what he has done but 2 wrongs don’t make it right. I do have to agree with Lionel though. We are losing our identity to these people and it saddens me that this is the world we are leaving for our children and grandchildren. There’s good and bad in us all unfortunately some of us have a major axe to grind with society because they want to change our world to suit their misguided beliefsViewDate:

Should controversial statues around the country be removed? What happened to George Floyd was tragic. No one regardless of colour or creed should be treated in this way. But it does not justify the mob rule that now prevails over the United States and here I the UK. These symbols of our past are a reminder of our history whether we like it or not. We are moving with the times now, just look at the magazines and tv to see how we now have multiracial families instead of all white or black. News readers and politicians, tv families and reporters, that are BAME people that are now part of our everyday lives. The indiscriminate destruction of these Statues and Memorials is just Mob Rule and will never remove what happened in history, so why can we not try and remove these chips that some of us have on our shoulders and try and co-exist without Gang warfare, political point scoring and the need to be better than others.ViewDate:

Have you received the holiday refund that you are due?Had booked 2 weeks to Tenerife staying at CLC Paradise and flying with Ryanair. CLC have been absolutely fantastic, keeping us informed all the way. Ryanair cancelled the flights 10 days before we were due to fly and offered a refund which we accepted.. That was 5 weeks ago now and no sign of the refund. They have since offered flight vouchers which we declined 3 weeks ago. Since then nothing. Impossible to get in contact with them even with the chatbot. I live in hope....ViewDate:
12th May 2020parsnip54 commented on:
Would you feel confident taking a holiday flight from 1st July?I think realistically it will not be safe to fly until next year, or at least until a vaccine has been successfully produced. I feel Ryanair’s motive is purely financially driven as is a lot of the other businesses pushing to reopen. The UK has a huge amount to offer so let’s help our own economy first before we throw our pounds sterling into foreign coffers.ViewDate:

Does the new 'Stay Alert' slogan convey a clear message?I feel it’s time we are treated as adults and not talked to like children. You will always get the self centred arrogant idiots who think they know better and will continue to do as they wish. The message is clear. This virus is lethal and indiscriminate. We have to behave in a manner that is going to protect ourselves and loved ones and if that means the extension of this unpleasant but absolutely necessary lockdown then so be it. So Boris and Co. Give us clear and firm instructions. Provide us will accurate information. Don’t just throw any political waffle at us. This is our lives and our nation’s future.. Please stay safe and well all.ViewDate:

Should WW2 veteran NHS fundraiser Tom Moore be knighted? This gentleman is a hero. To honour him with a knighthood is the least we, as a country should do. His commitment and passion must put many of us to shame. What he has done for the NHS and our key workers is, well, I’m lost for words. God bless you sir. You are truly a HERO. -
