How do you cope with your aches and pains?I thought that my aches and pains were a normal part of the ageing process. I mentioned them to my GP, just in passing really, and he suggested that I had a blood test. It turned out that I have polymyalgia . What a pain!! It can burn itself out in 2/4 years but the only treatment, not a cure, is long term steroids. Not something I wanted to do but there is no choice. The pain has diminished and I am able to lead a near normal life although not able to go on long walks. Not a lot is known about the problem but I have found a very good support group who have been an immense help.ViewDate:

Long distance grandparentingI have one son who lives in New Zealand. He has been over there for 17years or so. He has two children aged 11 and 15. Dannielle was 2 1/2 when I first met her. Back then we didn't have Skype and phone calls weren't cheap. I missed out on so many of her milestones. It wasn't much easier when Jonny came along. Now, though, it is so easy to see and talk to them. It makes such a difference. I have been four times on my own and twice with OH. We are hoping to go back again this December for several months.
