5 ways to help garden birds this nesting seasonGood afternoon Ladyalba, hope you are well and managing with this rain we are having. If someone can get the nest box down for you it is best to give it a good clean as normally blue tits and most birds like a clean nest box, they will not use it if it is grubby inside. Hope this will help you, Take care.ViewDate:

5 ways to help garden birds this nesting seasonMy husband and I live in the countryside and have always fed and put up some boxes for the blue tits etc., now this year for some unknown reason we have been so very unlucky as we have had an outbreak of mice and rats in our garden and we dare not put any boxes up. When we feed them which is each day one of us will stand guard by looking out of our kitchen window, have spent a lot of money on peppermint spray around where we feed the birds, have also had a pest control company out and we have also put poison down extremely carefully so no birds can see or get to it, the only thing is these vermin keep coming and of course frighten the birds. Must add that we only put out a very small amount and if this goes then a little more and so on. We adore the wild birds and have many types come into the garden and it is so upsetting that these vermin are around. Has anyone got any good ideas of what we can do, guess the answer will be not to feed them? Thank you for any ideas.ViewDate:

Speakers Corner CommentsGood afternoon CaroB4, it stands for anti social behaviour, ASB for short. We have been very unlucky, have lived a very quiet peaceful life for 17 years here, I was also born in the village, but have had the neighbour from hell move in next door. Will keep it short, he works, is 64 ish, drinks heavy and plays what we call "teenage" music, or whatever they call it these days. The longest we have had to put up with it is 18 hours non stop, have had 2 plus years of this, called 101 who came out twice but he takes no notice of anyone. I am registered disabled and my poor husband of 37 years who is also my carer, has had a breakdown over it, the constant noise is horrendous. You just can't tell or ask this person anything as he will just swear back. The problem is kind of in hand but am finding it very stressful dealing with all the correspondence etc., have been fighting to get him removed for 2 years over, and am getting very tired of being told rubbish from our housing association who always appear to be on the perpetrators side. I apologise for "going on", but this is just 1 type of ASB.ViewDate:

New to chatting hereThank you so very much for replying to me Yodama, I was not sure if anybody else had been or going through this type of horror. I really know how your poor neighbour must be feeling, unfortunately the G.P we saw at the time was a locum he was very polite, done his 10 mins but when asked this question he just smiled and said "wouldn't we all like that". We just came away. Thinking about this now thanks to you, I will contact my G.P (at the same practice), and see if he will write to them but it will be when I next get my D.L.A, as know he will charge for doing this. It is a brilliant idea though will do anything to get our lives back. Hope your friend is having some help with the neighbours from hell, as it nobody should have to put up with this type of behaviour. Has she contacted Environmental Health about things or our friendly 101 blues? Not knowing what kind of problem they are causing I am just guessing, but whatever it is her neighbours are doing it has to stop. Please tell her that we know how it feels, and just hope that the people doing this do a disappearing act preferably now so she can get well again. Bless you for being so thoughtful, Take care of you and your friendViewDate:

New to chatting hereNeighbour is driving my husband and I into an early grave, for 2 years and 4 months have had to put up with his alcoholism and extremely loud music, have been through all this with the housing association who about 1 month ago gave us a iphone with a noise apps. Husband being 64 and myself 55 could not work this phone thing so where unable to tape any noise, have filled in a stack of diaries and have all covered the dates, times etc., it goes on solid for 5-7 hours and all you here is thump, thump, thump through our walls, even at 02:00. It has caused my husband to have a "breakdown" but is getting a little better, I am registered disabled, we have been and still are living a nightmare. Can not eat when he is at home, stress I guess, normally have something hot about 17:30 but something just washes over us when he comes home, suppose it is wondering what to expect. He is unapproachable as he just swears at us, have been told by housing association not to have anything to do with him, no fear of that. He is 64 same age my husband, but my husband is a wonderful man, kind, gentle, help anyone always has been this way. Have been married for 38 years now and live in a 1 bed bungalow, have a wonderful well established garden as we are on a corner plot, it is all shrubs and trees just right for the birds. Why, why, why do these housing associations move in people who are quite capable into 1 bed bungalows, which were originally meant for older people who could not work, or were disabled like me. We have lived here peacefully for 17 years, and I was born just up the road from where we live now, my husband is also local, we have been good tenants and are now being treated like this. Is there something we have done wrong? All we want is a quiet, peaceful life, do not need this. Housing Ass. always appear to be on the perpratators side. Has anyone here had this kind of problem, would be pleased to have some suggestions if you have. First time on here and apologise for being so down.ViewDate:
