Are you hoping to go on holiday this summer or are you feeling hesitant? The COVID-19 is still viral and, until the contact and death rate has reduced, Iwould rather wait another year to see where we are with the control of the virus , before thinking about a holiday. There are other factors to consider also; will there be another peak in the virus and We have to consider the winter period. Rings it’s own coughs and influenza not to mention another risk of COVID-19 peaking. Next year or even the following year is when I may consider a holiday, but will the virus still be around then??ViewDate:

Would you be happy to visit a National Trust garden next week? For myself it would be to soon as I am described as extreme high risk due to health conditions and age. When I am advised by the NHS and government that I may resume outside activities I will need to be assured that distance identifications remain in place where I go. I shall be very cautious. If other people are free to move from their home then I am sure there will be such excitement that some people may forget to keep at a safe distances. We shall have to wait and see what happens once visits to these areas begin.ViewDate:

Is it realistic to expect over 70s to remain in their homes for 4 months? No, I do not think it realistic for people over the age of 70 to remain in isolated for 4 months. Their strength and bodies will decline as well as their mental health, I believe it would be far more sensible for our Government to follow the actions taken by the other European Countries that is, Restricting travel and public places ie museums, theatres, cafes and so forth. We really do need to contain this dreadful virus immediately.ViewDate:

Is the UK Government doing enough to lessen the spread of Covid-19?I agree with Munsterlander’s comments. I would rather a more stringent approach to stop Coronavirus spreading further, be put in place. Place a ban on large social gatherings, close schools, (I know working families will disagree with me in this), limit panic buying. I think all stores and public places should provide static hand cleansers at their entrances. Stringent practices at airports buy checking everyone coming. Surely a screening device process which visitors walk through can be manufactured and out in place, as so many different viruses are beginning to enter our world. I think political arguments should cease and the Government help the people, young and elderly to live their lives without fear of dying from these terrible viruses.ViewDate:

Win a £50 National Garden Gift VoucherA boost of £50.00 would certainly help me purchase plants for this year and help to improve the look of my garden. It would bring great happiness to my husband who has Parkinson’s, to see some colour and beautiful plants while he sits in the garden in the warmer weather,ViewDate:

Did Prince Andrew's Newsnight interview make his predicament better or worse? You have suggested that I agree with your first sentence and that is a total misjudgement. Yes, here have been previous scandals but who are we to judge. As for your saying our Queen has indulged Prince Andrew, I question how you can confirm in that. Every one has views and of course not all will agree. I merely shared my thoughts in writing as offered by Silversurfers to comment, and don’t intend to get into a controversy on this subject and I closing this page.ViewDate:

Did Prince Andrew's Newsnight interview make his predicament better or worse?I believe that Prince Andrew made a great error agreeing to be interviewed, (whether he was advised to or not.). I feel extremely sorry for the Queen as some of her family appear to have forgotten how to behave as Royals. That is say nothing, admit nothing and keep it in the family.ViewDate:

Would you be happy to use Alexa to search the NHS website to answer your health questions?Thank you for your comment to mine. I would need to see written reassurance from NHS and the Government to confirm data etc is totally secure.ViewDate:

Would you be happy to use Alexa to search the NHS website to answer your health questions? While I embrace technology I would not use Alexa until it has been proven to be 100% data secure. Also that the medical information and advice is 100% up to date. So until Alexa is proven data secure and information given totally correct and up to date then my answer is no, I will not use this technical device. I am also sick to death of having to read and listen to how the increase in the elderly are causing a burden to the NHS. Where is the care and attention to any human being gone. Let’s cut to the chase and have the government start looking how the NHS is being run now and start funding the NHS to it can begin to run as it was meant to be, ie caring for any person who is ill, whether it be young, old etc. Too much money has being drained from vital services to enable them to operate fully with dire consequences. What I and a lot of people would like to know is, what is our tax being used for, that is being deducted from monthly pay packets and pension pots (the latter being absolutely appalling having been taxed once already)? Put some back into the NHS.ViewDate:

Is a 'stiff-upper-lip' mentality partially to blame for today's mental health problems? This is a difficult question as I cannot say Yes or No. I don’t think that the stiff upper lip particularly is to blame for mental illness nowadays. With the high upper class it might still be but for the average people it is more to do with men having to show they are strong and not succumb to any signs of weakness. However, I believe this is changing with the modern generation as many of the youngsters want to show their feelings. However, it is well known that children bully children and if a bully spots a weakness in any child the bully will stress that child will cruel jibes and sometimes striking them, hence sometimes making them mentally or physically ill. At these times the parents must keep a look out for signs of bullying and talk and help their child. Children don’t like to appear different from their peers and feel forced to cooperate and look to play. Follow the leader but inside they are very uncomfortable going against their natural feelings.ViewDate:

Is it cruel to dress up dogs for Halloween?I’m not sure when dresssing up of cats or dogs came into vogue but I really do not think it is necessary to dress animals as they are, after all, pets and not children. I know the owners of house pets love their animals and I did too before my dear pet passed away but I didn’t think of dressing him in any attire, as he was a pet. Some thoroughbred horse owners protect these horses with blankets in winter if they are grazing outside and I guess greyhounds, who also do not have fur to cover them should have blankets to keep them warm when they go out. However dogs with fur coats do not need blankets when they go out as they cause the dog to sweat.ViewDate:

Would you get Botox or fillers done on the High Street?Hi Hank999. I do understand about the need for saving our high streets by encouraging businesses and amenities there. I also take on board your comment about your dentist. However, I am speaking from experience with regard to some beauty parlours and also dentists. No I cannot judge all but I would be very wary and reluctant to have botox treatment in the high street stores. I would just prefer a wonderful soothing facial and back massage. These you can have quite confidently in high street stores without worrying what could go wrong. Yes, the subject of saving our high street is a good subject for discussion. Thanks for our debate re Botox. Have a great week. Deuxième.ViewDate:

Would you get Botox or fillers done on the High Street? Not to the detriment of the customer. If those providing the service are correctly and professionally trained and have medical approval to undertake these injections. It can be very dangerous and untold damage can be done. I would definitely not have such treatment in a high street environment.ViewDate:

Would you get Botox or fillers done on the High Street?Botox Treatment requires medical skills and most of those practising this treatment on the high street are not medically trained. I wouldn’t dream of having any facial treatments on the high street as it is extremely unsafe to do so.ViewDate:

Would you consider retiring abroad? The biggest issue retiring to another country is the welcoming factor ie. medical facilities, health care; transferring of money and the currency exchange into another country; cost of living, and of course whether there is any animosity from local residents for auslanders (outsiders) coming to live in their country. If all could be overcome I would definately retire overseas, probably to France, or similar. I don’t think the UK has a great deal to offer now and am wondering, like many people, how Brexit is going to affect us to. There is a much to consider and to look into before packing up and leaving, even with Brexit hanging over us. Government appear to forget its citizens and look after other countries first, or it appears so on reading world news. SIGH! We were once a great country and I hope it returns to one again soon once all is settled with us leaving the EU.ViewDate:

Should Strictly introduce same-sex couples?I am certainly not prejudiced but I do like a choice too. You will see my comments post. This is a difficult area to discuss but the question Saga has put to us is about ‘Strictly’ not other areas of self-same couples.ViewDate:

Should Strictly introduce same-sex couples? This is a very difficult area to have to make a decision. I have no issues with same sex couples, if that is their choice, but I prefer not to have to watch self-sex couples in my selected choice of entertainment. Maybe in a number of years time same sex couples will be the norm and all will be accepted but not in the current time; for me anyway. I don’t want to ostracise them but at the same time I want Strictly to remain in its current format.ViewDate:
