Extra Income informationHiya all, I have just joined the group and I'm trying to find out what's what. The article by Kath got me thinking. We see adverts for cruises and holidays, (things to enjoy during retirement,) and it's what we probably pictured when we were working. Great, if you had a 'good' job that paid you enough to save some for later life, or if your employer provided you with a generous pension, or if you were lucky and kept your job, but what about those not so fortunate? That group would include myself. I wont go into details here, but I will expand on it in a BLOG because my mistakes may guide others away from them. The thing is that whether we, at our various ages, are finding it hard to enjoy retirement through bad planning, bad employer or just bad luck - we need to do something about it, don't we? There must be a way to use our talents to make a little, (or a lot,) in our 'spare time'. I believe that I have one answer, (which I will share with anyone who is interested,) but between us there is a wealth of experience and knowledge going to waste. Other people may write us off at 65, but we know different. I'll tell you something, I was deteriorating and 'going down the nick', as they say, until I found a way to fight back. I'm learning at the moment, some of it is new to me, but the very fact that I am having a go, setting a new goal, has brought me back to life. Oh I'm still in pain, waiting for a hip replacement, but I know that I can do it. If fact, anyone who can read, learn, use a lap top or mobile device an follow instructions can do it. I'll finish up now, but any comments, suggestions or feedback are welcome. (Watch for the blog.) I've enjoyed 'talking' to you, thanks for you time. Pete. (bsa.a7)ViewDate:

The best retirement blogs on the webCould you please explain why this is inappropriate. Surely there are members who don't enjoy company pensions etc, My blog would offer a platform where it could be discussed and maybe some answers found. I could do with some answers myself. This site isn't just for the fortunate is it? I'm not trying to be awkward, it just seems strange that it is deemed unacceptable to have made mistakes. (Pete)ViewDate:

The best retirement blogs on the webhi my name is Pete, (bsa.a7,) I am interested in writing a blog myself, aimed at those like me who have worked long and hard but are now struggling to manage to live on the state pension. Could you give me your thoughts on this please? (Pete)
