TRAVELING SOLO AND LOOKING FOR A COMPANION?Hi. Just joined today. Not sure how to use this forum. But I'll try. I'm a retired American who loves to travel more than my wife does, and in ways and to places she'd never dream of going. I have always wanted to ride the Trans-Siberian express, and I'd even love to be able to say I went from London to Hong Kong by train. Needless to say she won't go along and there's no way she'd ever let me go alone either. I'm too old and too diabetic for that and she's right! So, as preposterous as the idea is, I'd still like to keep it on my bucket list a while, while I see if there's anyone out there here who'd even remotely contemplate something along these lines. Say late summer 2016.ViewDate:

Over 50 and tired of travelling solo? Find holiday companionsI love to travel! Esp by train. My wife, however, does not. So sometimes, I like to dream about train trips I'd love to take. But I'm "of a certain age" and it's no longer practical to take some of the trips I fantasize about, alone. I've always wanted to ride the Trans-Siberian Express. And I've got this (ridiculous?) idea that I'd like to be able to say I've gone from London to Hong Kong by train! It's feasible, by the way. But of course I can't and won't do it alone. So I'm thinking about trying to find someone else who might also consider some of the outlandish foreign train trips I've always wanted to take, such as this one. I'd like to think about doing this sometime late summer or fall in 2016. It's pricey but it's within my reach. I'm in my 70s, retired professional, well educated, seriously into classical music/opera, art, history, natural scenery, etc., when traveling. And trains--did I mention that? I've just signed up to this forum, and I'm not sure how to use it. I assume if someone wants to reply, it'll be here, so I'll check back from time to time to see if anyone has taken an interest in my (preposterous?) idea. -
