I would like to make new friends for general conversation onlyHi I note you has a reply from editor re a chat line opening.on here?????? I haven't found it yet. did you have any luck? Hello by the way I am recent on this but not making much of an impression. not even sure I like trying to communicate in this way. most of my conversations are at check out points in supermarkets.God Bless em. used to be at bus stops until I got a car. in the Library or a charity shop. these are all places you can pop into in any area in a town.have a coffee in local café. I found it takes about six months before I stop feeling threatened after moving into a new area. once I know my area its much easier to relax and chat with strangers. theres also local places of worship if that suits you.ViewDate:

Help me find something new...and Healthy!Hi crep If you live near to a bus stop, tram or train station, then plan a short trip out to a nearby beauty spot. lots of deals on pensioner pass /travel. pick up a second hand bike. renovate it then take it to the park where it is safer to ride. also stop at a café or pub for a spot of lunch. If you advertise on other forums for a car driver who is willing to share the ride, you can contribute to the petrol or take a pack lunch for two as payment. good luck.ViewDate:

Insufficient seating for weary shoppersBeing Old. celtwitch, does not mean one cannot walk. Being disabled or restricted in mobility does unfortunately. this can happen to people at any age Moaning as you call it... No, just making comments and hopefully finding solutions. sometimes sharing with others can bring the most unexpected answers to problems. so that people can keep going.ViewDate:

Do you think Camilla should be crowned queen? It doesn't matter what we think. As the king she will be his queen. that apparently is the law set out. with regard to her taking Diana's place No. With regard to keeping Charles Happy. Yes if he wants that. With regard to losing the most important women in my life for all of my life the Queen, I can't bare to think about it. I have always seen her as a steady and comforting figure I look to her when I want more information or advice on what is the best thing to do in world situations, as I know she is well informed and we are only told what they want us to know etc.,,,,Blimey!ViewDate:

Insufficient seating for weary shoppersYork is nice too. Best place I found to sit while out shopping, is the Bolton town centre. It is full of seating and a great place to shop too. that's Bolton in Lancashire.UKViewDate:

Insufficient seating for weary shoppersI agree with you, I solved this with buying a tripod seat, the folding type they often use for fishing. It's a little chunkier than an umberella, but I can sit anywhere I need to and when I need to. I get some funny looks but I don't care as I don't intend to shut myself away just because I can't walk far. the shops are quick enough to take our money, so why not provide something on these lines in shopping malls?ViewDate:

PaintingHi Ruball, Thanks for replying, sorry you had no luck with classes, must admit some of them feel a bit like school lessons not my old art lessons in school, I remember they were the best and I enjoyed them. more like maths grrr. I shall persevere. The pyrography is interesting if you like working on or with wood. no you won't burn the house down silly, there are many types of wood burning pens and as long as you rest them on heat proof stand you will be fine. look it up on pintrest lots of different styles just as in painting. by for now.ViewDate:

Stick makingHello Alan, Sounds fascinating hobby Is there any particular wood you have to use for the sticks ? odo you find them? how did you get started on this. was it something you have seen at a craft fair or read a book on the subject? do you turn them or whittle them? I don't know the technical term for it, shaping them. would love to know more thanks.ViewDate:

PaintingHi Anna I am new. I was interested in what the main problem is for people doing art with cerebral palsy. would there be a reason for them not being able to paint for instance what is the main problem for them? Hope you don't mind my asking, only I enjoy finding solutions to practical problems especially where illness is concerned. as I have been affected myself in the past and overcome. so it interests me to help where I can.ViewDate:

PaintingHi Ruball, It's strange only the other day, I found a site that tells about watercolour techniques and one of them is salt to use it to make ice crystals effect in the paint. I am looking forward to chatting with other Art lovers also I am horse lover, sadly had to rehome my boy due to my illness, but am fundraising for them when health allows. Back to the art, Hope to learn lots on here and have fun also.ViewDate:

PaintingHello all, just joined this today. I have found this on Art and would like to join in if that's ok. I am into my fourth session in watercolour class at the local centre. Its the first time I have taken lessons on it, although I have dabbled before. also used to do Pyrography using watercolour on the wood. but no official training in it.
