Ready prepared or whole - how do you buy your vegetables?Always whole and unprepared. What worries me is when I buy veg in Tunisia from the greengrocers it only lasts a few days. Tomatoes for example are off in 2/3 days. In England from supermarket they last a week - must have something in them to keep them. And of course everything tastes better (except frozen peas - I love them!)ViewDate:

Do you take a daily dose of vitamins and minerals?I sometimes take Glucosomine for joints and if I feel a bit jaded I will take vitamins for over 50s but I believe a good diet of oily fish, vegetables, nuts, pulses, white meat, olives and such like are better than pills. I occasionally have a steak to boost my system and I am lucky because the mediterranean diet is easy for me to followViewDate:

What is your main health concern as you get older?I think losing brain capacity must be terrible. I am very lucky, thank God, in that I have no major problems with any of the things mentioned, save that I have had diabetes for 10 years. I take pills, go for my eye checkups and try to eat regularly, but other than that to be honest I ignore it. It will not rule my life. I try to keep my brain buzzing along by quizzes and keeping active. But I believe the best way is to have regular contact with younger people, to join in their activities and discussions. I rent a room in my home in Tunisia to a young girl student and we discuss life generally, go out together sometimes without invading each other's life. I am sure this is what keeps me jogging along.ViewDate:

Should smoking be brought back into pubs?I have read many of the comments below which refer to smoking as an anti-social habit. If I go into a pub what I find as anti-social are the people who have been there for a good part of the day and are three sheets to the wind, those people who talk as loudly as possible so everyone else has to put up with their conversations, foul language (not the usual odd swear words), the belief that if women are their alone they are in desperate need of male attention, loud music and tables littered with dirty plates and napkins. Sort out these problems please.ViewDate:

Should smoking be brought back into pubs?I am sure that one of the reasons so many pubs have closed is because of the smoking ban. Many people like myself liked to go to the pub after work for a drink and cigarette to socialise. Most pubs are big enough to provide an area for people who want to smoke. I also remember the time when the only food you could get in pubs was either crisps or sandwiches if you were lucky. There was nothing worse than going into a pub and having the stink of frying chips and food wafting over you. There were cafes and restaurants for that. The pub was a place to drink, meet up with friends and have a cold snack. I spend a lot of my time abroad where there is no smoking ban in the majority of places. People get on fine and no one complains. It is called freedom of choice. -
