Are you able to get a face-to-face doctor appointment?I got a face to face G.P. appointment by paying privately for an appointment 270 miles from where I live. I would not say I was well off. However in future I will be going to visit the private G.P. when I have any health care concerns. I felt I was listened to. The surgery was immaculate. It was very easy to get an appointment I was seen very quickly My point is if you can pay for an appointment and see a G.P. Why is the local G.P. informing patients that they have been told to work differently. "the government has told the local healthcare providers to do this?" I am afraid I am of the opinion that when you see a G.P. face to face they will notice how the patient is in themselves. Clinical Observation has always been part of any diagnosis. How can you diagnose illness down the telephone??? Patients will die because of missed signs and symptoms.ViewDate:

Caring for adult sonHello I would insists that all 3 of you have individual assessments via social services to assess the needs of each of you. It would then be a legal duty of Social Services to provide each person with a care package I believe. This will give a clear indication of what the needs are for each person. No one can make you take on the care of your grown son. Just say No and keep saying it if it is too much for you as long term you will perhaps make yourselves ill in the process. Take care of yourselves don't feel guilty if it is not what you want say No.ViewDate:

Is it realistic to expect over 70s to remain in their homes for 4 months? If people want to protect their health and well being then yes it is realistic. However all the over 70s should be able to have food, medcine ect delivered to their homes. It is not realistic for the government to tell them to stay in if systems are not in place to ensure their well being. Nor is it realistic to expect volunteers to go around. Some over 70s live in very isolated country area with no family near. What are they supposed to do?ViewDate:

Next Door's Lodger causing trouble - am I being unreasonable?Hi Archie The first time it happened he paid to have my bin cleaned out. His excuse was "I didn't use my bin" It is very obvious when he parks one of his bangers assorted vans in my car parking space.ViewDate:

Bowel Cancer AwarenessMy Husband has just been diagnosed with Bowel Cancer. He seems to be taking it much better than I do. I am devastated. We are waiting, he needs to have further tests. All the literature I have read says things like smoking, drinking being overweight, not having a good diet are issues which lead to Cancers. Yet none of the things apply to my Husband.ViewDate:

Looking For Some New MatesHi Bramble I just try and keep busy. I am interested in gardening, art and cookery. I tend to make things. I find such hobbies don't need other people. However life can be lonely. Take care Bramble and have a good Christmas. Cass
