Should Theresa May stay or go?Yes she should stay until the Brexit negotiations are completed. Very unfortunate she had a coughing fit during her most important speech but that is no reason to ask her to resign. I wonder if the media would cause so much fuss if we had a male pm? At this time the country needs stability not a leadership challenge and a possible new election. Whatever happens we must keep Corbyn out as his policies would really ruin the country and the national debt would escalate further.ViewDate:

Win a pair of Hotter Shoes of your choiceHotter shoes are extremely comfortable but some designs are rather old fashioned. I have a couple of pairs I bought a few years ago and they are still serviceable. I would buy again but cannot afford to so would love to win a pair!ViewDate:

Has Theresa May got the right financial balance for pensioners? It depends what is meant by better off. Because my husband paid into SERPS it has put us two pounds above claiming pension credit. He paid in for 45 years and we get the lower pension and mine is only basic as many of my former employers did not pay the full stamp unknown to me. We would suffer financial hardship if we were to lose the fuel allowance as a result of pension credit being the cut off point. It makes me wonder if it was worth being responsible as those who haven't been seem to do better.ViewDate:

Should same-sex couples be allowed to get married in a church?Jeanmark While I respect your viewpoint I do not see gay marriage within the church as a matter of equality. I view the Scriptures as the Word of God to teach us the way to live in order to be pleasing to God. The Bible is very clear on the issue of sexuality and what constitutes Christian marriage. The Bible is not accepted by all and is itself open to much criticism and debate. People of all sexualities are welcomed in the church and have the opportunity of civil partnerships, something not open to heterosexuals. Not wishing to get into politics I wonder if David Cameron hadn't legalised gay marriage if this would even have evoked such a problem for church leaders? I realise this is a very contentious issue and one on which further disagreements will prevail. Instead of getting bogged down in fruitless debates perhaps it would be more beneficial to concentrate on furthering the good news of Christ and worshipping together in unity?ViewDate:

Should same-sex couples be allowed to get married in a church?Wow! It sounds as though you have quite a challenge Annie. I wonder if you feel you are being tested? Well done for"holding fast to the things you have learned" There is a great need for teachers/preachers such as yourself in the church so "keep holding the pattern of faithful words". I too find it sad and frustrating that instead of many church leaders setting the example of biblical teaching there is a trend to go with what is popular and modern at the time thus watering down the Word of God. Difficult times indeed but Jesus indicated that the Christian way would not be easygoing. The greatest challenges for the early church came from within as we read in the letters of St. Paul. Times and people haven't changed that much!ViewDate:

Should same-sex couples be allowed to get married in a church?Don't despair Annie. Although things look bleak God is bigger than the church. Whatever happens he is always there for us. Look at the beautiful creation and the starry universe. The psalmist said 'What is mortal man that you take care of him and the son of man that you keep him in mind?". OurLord also said "Take courage I am with you, all the days until the end of the age"ViewDate:

Should same-sex couples be allowed to get married in a church? Why do these LBGT want everyone to fit in with their preference? Accepting that they should be welcomed with kindness and respect why should the church change Biblical teaching to accommodate what is popular now? God brought the man to the woman and Jesus quoted the Genesis account when being questioned on marriage. Christian marriage is between a man and a woman. I think this issue will ultimately divide the church.ViewDate:

Silversurfers Book Club Spring 2016Hi Already belong to a book club but was interested to see which books Silversurfers are reading. Have read Girl on the Train which I enjoyed though not as much as Gone Girl. I have recently read The Ice Twins which was a bit dark and spooky. I found the ending unsatisfactory and wondered if the author had been female if it would have had a different conclusion . Reading a debut novel (beside myself) by journalist Ann Morgan also about twins changing identities. It is a real page turner and unpredictable. Much better I think than the previous book about twins as they are very different authors. May try some of your suggestions next season.
