If you were American would you vote for Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton?I honestly don't trust either with the job but if I had a vote it would be for Hillary. Quite simply because, of the two, she is the only one with prior political experience. Out here in the USA we keep hearing about these e mails then in another story we hear how hackers have hacked stars e mails and phones and thousands of personal photos released to the internet. How safe are e mails? Her servers are a lot more secure than open internet ones. Also most top politicians admit to having their own servers. She is being held responsible for a lot of her husbands activity. They say she lies but what politician doesn't? Now Trump. He's a showman playing to his audience. Knows nothing about politics. Thinks all the public wants to hear is him insulting women, immigrants forgetting his own wife is one, women again. He never talks about election issues, never mentions the national debt and how to reduce it. Doesn't know how to talk to other countries leaders. I'm so afraid he's going to to say the wrong thing to the wrong person and lead us into WW3. If American's find they made a mistake it's not as easy to replace them as "you're fired" ( his catch phrase on TV) All in all I don't know.ViewDate:

Silversurfers Barometer Survey shows Silversurfers married for loveWe were married for 47 years until my wife passed away last October but to me we still are. I hesitate to say 'happily married' because nobody can actually define exactly what constitutes 'Happy' We had fun times, especially when the children were young, but we went through a couple of really hard spells. I now realize these hard spells were over petty reasons which in today's society could easily end in divorce. How we overcame them can not be explained easily but looking back you could say we drifted apart then drifted together again. I couldn't remember ever being without her. She was my first girlfriend in school and was the only person I ever made love to and still the only one I ever wanted to. This produced two wonderful children who in turn have produced two wonderful grandchildren. I will say at this point and am somewhat ashamed to say that my wife was left basically bringing up the kids herself because I was scared of children, and still are, not knowing how to talk to them. I worked long hours a lot of which were on the road for a week at a time. We were never really 'touchy feely type of people' or 'lovey dovey, So what made us stay together? I think can be explained by one word, Understanding, We tried to understand where the other was coming from. We each had our own interests, mine being my local football team and hers being the church and generally helping people which she did until the end. Not to say she didn't come to some games with me and I went to church with her. Neither of us were party people and never went out just to please ourselves we didn't drink excessively because of alcoholic, although it wasn't called that back then, parents. Even through the bad periods neither ever raised a finger against the other only raised voices. I'm sorry I'm ambling away and could keep on all day but I do miss her more than I can say. She was always here but now shes not and it's hard. We were given a piece of advice before we married and it stuck. "Never go to bed angry' and we never did even through the bad times when we weren't speaking we were not angry. This coupled with understanding is my secret to a long marriage.ViewDate:

The best of Sir Rod Stewart playlistMy favourite song. Anything he's NOT on. Can't say singing on as his gravelly voice set my hairs on end, no way can it be class as singing and I liked everything from that era I Never liked him in his early days with Jeff Beck or the faces and noticed when he went solo those groups became popular.ViewDate:

Toys of the 50s and 60sMy own daughter's also had large Sindy collections which , when we emigrated to the USA had to be hand carried onto the plane in their own Sindy cases quite unaware that America had their own Barbi dolls. They soon found Sindy and Barbi clothes and accessories were interchangeable. The girls also liked their full size Paddington Bears, my youngest loved wearing Paddington's Wellies. These bears also had to be hand carried onto the plane. Nowadays we would probably have to buy them their own seats as one was bigger than my youngest who had to have her own seat. I say they had to be carried on because my wife ended up carrying them off, along with her own hand luggage and youngest daughter. I was already loaded down'ViewDate:

Toys of the 50s and 60sCouldn't afford many playable toys, although my parents would argue, so I had to make my own. As I have mentioned before a length of 2x2 wood with 2 nails in it was a rifle. Bikes built from junk parts, puddles to jump in by mother nature. My favorite with, as they call it nowadays, play value was my lego bricks of which a bucket was passed down and added too for my own daughters who played for hours with it and that in turn, grown to a small dustbin full, was passed to my grandchildren. It was kept here so they or any other nieces or nephews who visited would have something to play with. I have no doubt they will again be passed on to great grandchildren after I in my retirement have finished my 2nd childhood playing with them. It's strange to think that in that dustbin full of bricks are some that are over 50 years old.ViewDate:

Songs About Love - Our Silversurfers Valentine's Day PlaylistMy favourite is Love is all Around by the Troggs and if that works then Wild Thing. All the list except 1 would have been on vinyl disks and I think I was one of the few people that thought the sound of vinyl was far superior and warmer sounding. I have had a lot of 60's and 70's albums and singles just sitting in my basement for maybe 25 years and just recently being in my mid 60's and slowly going deaf I decided to play them again while I could hear them. I don't think I hear too much of the music now I think I hear the songs I remember. Anyway last week I set up a system in my living room with a new deck and tuner/amplifier. Last Thursday night my 12 year old granddaughter came over walked in and stared then pointing at the deck, quite indignantly said "What's That" The CD and MP3 generation.ViewDate:

Who would make a better President - Donald or Hillary?I live in the US but don't have a vote because I chose to remain British. That said I do try to follow the election as much as I can understand. I don't understand what this Caucus really does but it shows the candidates whether it's worth continuing or not. This Iowa Caucuses are, I believe, always the first in any election with over 12" of snow forecast for most of Iowa. As to the candidates you ask about only two headliners but there are others with as much or greater chance of being elected in November. Yes for all of you who don't know this election process drags on until November with more dirt thrown than a farmer has manure. Talking about dirt and name calling I personally can say that is all I have heard Trump doing. I haven't heard anything about what issues he stands for or what he would for the country. O at this juncture I would have to say Hillary Clinton. As a footnote there is going to be millions upon millions of dollars spent on all these campaigns that I feel should be spent on the poor and needy.ViewDate:

Hits of the 80s PlaylistThe best sounds I heard in the 80's were 'Golden Oldies' from the 60's. The 80's was the decade when I realized I sounded like my Dad in saying " It's not music it's nothing but a noise. Give me ' The Troggs', ' Herman's Hermits', ' Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Itch and scratch it.' infact a host of records only played on Pirate Radio Station ' Radio Caroline '. Their theme song echo's through my head to this day. I can not recall the names of any of the DJ's but remember the words of every song. Remember https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTG7-qaStnI OR Ed 'Stewpot' Stewart and Tony Blackburn from their early days ( sound quality not great but it was Radio Caroline from 1965 ) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbT3bbdgZhkViewDate:

The best of David Bowie playlistI was never a fan of David Bowie but one song I dare or challenge you to find a video of the only song of his I did like. The laughing Gnome. I did see a video once back then. I think I was the one person who purchased the record and still have it in my collection. RIP David. -
