Should disposable barbecues be banned?Ban these disposable bbq's in public areas but for private use in the garden fine. It should be law and a hefty fine for the entire group if people get caught breaking the law. We have seen levels of stupidity and bad behaviour in Dorset recently with these things causing devastating fires, rubbish discarded everywhere and trampling over private farmland so there needs to be a campaign reiterating how people should behave because good behaviour seems to have gone out of the window.ViewDate:

Should Dominic Cummings resign? You cannot dictate a policy that keeps people in their homes and unable to travel any distance and then skip off 260 odd miles because he had 'symptoms'. Wasn't it his mothers birthday? His comments since the furore broke have shown he is dismissive about 'ordinary' people's views and it's that disdain that is unacceptable. The 'do as I say not as I do' attitude is wrong. Presumably he had to stop for a break on the drive so how many people did he come into contact with.ViewDate:

Eating a big breakfast will ‘burn more calories’I don't get hungry if I have scrambled eggs, sausage or bacon for breakfast but if I have muesli, porridge, cereal or toast, an hour later I'm starving so yep, a good proper protein packed breakfast for me thanks.ViewDate:

Does the new cast of The Crown meet your expectations?I have only managed to watch a couple of episodes of the first series because I always feel I can't comment on anything if I haven't watched, read or tasted but to be honest, I can't watch anymore as the discrepancies between fact and fiction are just odd. I do follow the royals so find the series really cross making - doubt I will be watching all three series .ViewDate:

Should over 70s be banned from voting on the country's future?Historically every generation has cocked up which is why voting from both sides usually keeps the decision balanced.ViewDate:

Should over 70s be banned from voting on the country's future?Don't be ridiculous, we should all be able to vote/comment, why should any decision just be the perogative of the young? Older people give a balanced viewpoint, younger give the more idealistic viewpoint and the result should come somewhere in the middle - I wish these people suggesting inverted discrimination would just stop and realise they are just so pompous!! Now watching the comments on GMB and the younger guest is a good case in point!! For heavens sake!!ViewDate:

Was Prince Harry right to bare his soul on television? He and Megan both have mental issues plus a new marriage, a new baby and finding their role in the Royal family so I really feel they need to back off from public engagements, find some proper help and instead of trying to save the world they need to start with saving themselves. They need to realise they cannot carry the world but do need to carry themselves and young Archie plus we need radio silence about them. We don't need to hear how they are struggling, take a leaf out of the Queen Mother's book 'never explain, never complain. They have just gone way over the top, they are not everything to everyone but they need to be everything to each other.ViewDate:

Should women have time off work for menopausal symptoms? No! so if they are having a bad time they can effectively finish work in their 40's right through to whenever, bonkers. As Val Stebbing said, if they are having a bad time take medication. Women have gone through the menopause for hundreds of thousands of years - get on with it.ViewDate:

Are package holidays on their way out?I don't think they are on their way out but I do think travel firms, instead of trying to offer cheaper and cheaper holidays all the while investing in more and more things like planes thereby tying up their money, should maybe just concentrate on the holidays and working with an airline partner cutting the risk. It's sometimes not all about world domination but managing a companies finances properly.ViewDate:

Is it time for a woman to play 007?For heavens sake!! I get fed up with women bleating they want to be included or do roles like Bond which wasn't written for them. T.V. is dumbed down because programme makers insist there have to be so many more women in roles particularly in police dramas for example and I know I'm going to get outrage hurled at me but come on! With Radio 2 now dominated in the mornings by Zoe Ball wittering on in her gushy fashion to the new drama The Capture with the lead trying to be roughy toughy I'm losing the will to live! Dr Who is a prime example, I was glad a female got the role but the content was disappointing which wasn't her fault but it didn't do the role any favours. Best get the tin hat on and duck.................................ViewDate:

Do you agree with the TV licence changes for over-75s?If the BBC didn't pay such ridiculous amounts to so called 'stars' and their executives on over 150 grand plus, out of their 5 billion received from you, me and all the other tax payers they spend 3 billion on administration (i.e. wages, taxis, flights, meals and £75,000 on just The Guardian last year) then maybe we could understand the justification, but to hit the elderly because they are an easy target and because the BBC can't manage their money is criminal. Don't they say they are providing a service? Well can't we take them to court for mis-selling and misappropriating funds? At the very least they are unfit for purpose. Shame on the BBC and it's fraudulent use of our money.ViewDate:

Is going digital isolating elderly people?Companies i.e. banks and marketing companies are not interested in providing a service for everyone and of course 'old' people are not worth a thought - well here's a thought, just because many do not like using computers or smart phones, that does not make them irrelevant and they have money to spend but of course they won't if they cannot access it - Corporate world, get a clue here, you are showing a massive business ignorance!! Customers are customers whether they are 18 or 80, they all need respect and an equal facility and you are not providing either!!!!ViewDate:

Should women join the SAS?I'm all for women doing a 'man's' role having been an operator in a plastics factory lifting half ton molds and driving fork lifts however, we are built differently and physically this could put a huge strain on the woman's long term health. If women think they can do it fine but I do hope that if they find it too physically demanding they don't then bleat about it being a sexist institution. I get tired of women jumping up and down in high dudgeon at any supposed sexist slight, we haven't done ourselves any favours on some issues over the years and joining something as demanding as the SAS should be done so with a lot of realistic thought and not with the attitude 'because I can'.ViewDate:

Should all pensioners over 75 be entitled to a free TV licence? The BBC needs to get a grip on their own finances i.e. stop paying 1.6 million to one person - no-one, absolutely no-one is worth that sort of money. Instead of paying for taxi's everywhere, instead of paying to send all those reporters etc to the Olympics, instead of running re-runs constantly they need to address their budgeting priorities. Pensioners have been paying taxes etc all their lives, one small perk is surely not too much to ask? What planet do these people live on ?ViewDate:

Did you watch Bodyguard on BBC?I watched the first two episodes but it felt contrived and formulaic. I saw a clip of the last episode whipping off his coat to reveal the suicide belt but just started laughing, total nonsense - Now Killing Eve on the other hand was refreshing with it's brilliant writing and delicious intrigue, definitely worth watching.ViewDate:

Have you experienced ageism? The worst ageism I have experienced on a regular basis is the old saying of 'being overlooked instead of looked over', I have become invisible and as a previous comment said, spoken to slowly as if I've lost my marbles but this has it's rewards as I scuttle about my business in total anonymity but then on the other hand I have a terrific circle of friends of all ages so there are pro's and con's as in most things.ViewDate:

Are shirtless pictures of Poldark sexist double-standards?A woman's breasts are the whole sexual arousal and then subsequent feeding and nurturing thing but a man's is most definitely not. Women's breasts are a more private part of her body whereas there is absolutely no sexual connotation to a man's breasts i.e. we do not drool over a page three model getting his breasts out. If they started to publish pictures of his penis then that would be - women do however have sexual double standards when they are flirting and testing out their sexual allure on some poor hapless man who would genuinely think he was desirable and then he makes a move the woman suddenly starts shouting 'sexual harassment' and worse. The whole subject is so tricky and we all have to be so careful although as an old lady, no-one ever thinks I am gazing at an attractive man in anything other than a grandmotherly fashion haha!!.......................................ViewDate:

Why you’ll soon be adding oat milk to your morning coffeeI respect peoples views on veganism or any other 'ism' but for me as an older woman, I have full fat milk, cheese and butter because we need the calcium as our bones become more brittle with age. Over the last 40 years we have had endless reports how things are bad for us only to be reversed years down the line. Yoghurt for instance which I used to make all the time with added fruit and honey, suddenly became bad for us and then a few years down the line was good again. 'Fat free' was pushed as an alternative which has now been proved to be ineffective so incorporate things like oat milk into the daily diet but don't cut out a whole food group just because of a fad or trend. More vegetable based foods in our diet is obviously better for us but shouldn't make up all of our diet. Balance is the key.ViewDate:

Do you think university tuition fees should be scrapped?Do not charge for the Math's, engineering, science based courses but charge for the art, drama, social type courses. There needs to be more investment in apprenticeships, kids do not need to go to university and for many it is because that's what everyone else is doing, but if there were more work based apprenticeships we would be training a more useful employable youth who would be getting paid while training.ViewDate:

Should teaching the National Anthem at school be compulsory? You live in this country and presumably everyone here wanted to be here so sing the anthem, simple. If you are one of the perpetual moaners and sneerers about this country, if it's so bad push off, be big and brave and action what you feel would be utopia.ViewDate:

Are you a fan of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!?I have enjoyed the show the past couple of years as everyone gets on however, echoing other comments I did feel the challenge that Dennis and Jamie did in the water tanks showed the crocs and water lizards scrabbling to get out in sheer terror which was completely wrong - maybe they can look at alternatives? Maybe the whole concept with live animals is outdated a bit like zoos?ViewDate:

Should all stores introduce gender neutral changing rooms? For fairness to all there should be individual changing rooms - nobody likes the communal ones anyway. Retailers only use them to get more bodies in but having run fashion shops years ago people, whether male, female, transgender, no gender, 6 legs etc prefer the privacy of their own cubicle. To introduce an all in means that the retailers are going to lose sales from whoever doesn't want to go in the changing room because of who may be in there.ViewDate:

What’s stopping you from switching energy supplier?Every other year I do the price comparison websites and change to the best rate shown at the time. It is easy, it all happens behind the scenes and always on the day it is stated. I changed my bank a few months ago and again that was easy just make sure you tell your employers so they can change on your personal details on their system. The bank will take over the payments etc but you need to tell your employer as a cross check. Car insurance, banks, energy providers, phone providers, everything can be changed really easily and quickly and to be honest gone are the days when these companies valued long standing customers, they don't give a fig, they are more interested in currying new customers by throwing loads of offers at them so don't feel disloyal about changing and don't just accept increases without finding out why and who else can do it cheaper.ViewDate:

Do you see the benefits of mindfulness and meditation?I have been using mindfulness for a few years now although I didn't know that was what I was doing, but I have used it to stop smoking and cut down dramatically on alcohol, just got to get the eating to take notice then I'm sorted!! It does work, concentrate on the one thing at a time and then I just ask myself do I want to do that and the answer is usually no because it isn't making me happy. That way I don't give in nor feel deprived. Don't set a time frame, you will fail, just be conscious that you need to change a certain habit and then think it through each time the urge/habit pangs start. I knew I needed to change my habits by the time I got to 60 and slowly started to think each thing through and it worked so you can do it to.ViewDate:

Is August too soon for shops to be stocking Christmas products?Retailers have managed to destroy the whole Christmas build up because the shops stock so early. Should we do another moon landing? No point, hugely expensive, we've been there and not a lot to see and it wouldn't sustain life as we know it Jim. This would just be an exercise to gratify the space people and keep them in jobs. Is it right to share the private tapes of Princess Diana? Are they ever going to let the poor woman rest? Picking over every little detail is nauseating frankly, the woman is dead, leave it be. The media used to say that to guarantee sales all they had to do was put Diana on the front page - what's the matter are they trying to boost revenue? People really don't want it all over again, it was a sad episode in history but enough!ViewDate:

Poldark or Diana: In Her Own Words?Enough!! Will people never let this die? There were mistakes made on both sides and for people who have gone through divorce there is the old two sides to every story aspect but Diana is being dragged out and picked over to an obscene degree. Her son's are bearing their souls so that is being picked over and frankly the media are rubbing their hands at the potential revenue they can wring out of this ghoulish interest so isn't it time this whole sorry mess was finished? As for Poldark, is there ever going to be a series without the slobbering, panting and grappling? I am so bored!!!! We've all done it, we know where everything goes, why do the t.v. programme makers have to smother what could have been a fab series in sex?ViewDate:

Does the country need a new 'caretaker' prime minister? She has had to learn a huge lesson and frankly I wouldn't like to be on the end of such sustained vicious criticism that she has received through the media, her own party and the public however I do think she has probably done a lot of soul searching and has realised her massive mistakes particularly having those two self serving glory seekers as her advisors and she needs to be allowed to take control and do the job herself. At this time the country does need stability and for her own party to run round like headless chickens looking for the next fix is naive and dangerous. They all need to dig in and get on with the job and prove they are capable.ViewDate:

Has the media become too judgemental?Listening to and reading the media it is becoming obvious that if they can put a negative slant on something they will particularly during the election and frankly turning on the news or reading the paper is becoming a negative experience. The questions asked, the comments on certain things, interviewers who have now developed the habit of asking a question but rather than allowing an answer have to start bombarding with more and more questions hoping to get the interviewee flustered and saying the wrong thing so it can be pounced on and look at 'Good Morning Britain' today, they are making a big fuss about the Queens hat for heavens sake!! and will Suzanna Reid stop interrupting!! It is mischief making on a massive scale and there is an unpleasant undercurrent to news stories trying to make a story bigger and more sensationalist than it really is.ViewDate:

Do you support the WI Plastic Soup campaign? When we are told that a plastic is bio degradable no it isn't. I worked in a plastic factory years ago and no it doesn't degrade it breaks into tiny pieces but then still sits in the earth. As to the oceans the whole world needs educating, we use plastic in everything from bottles to car fittings, to kitchen fittings, oil drums, shoes, glasses frames, picnic sets everything so there needs to be a concerted effort to find viable alternatives and as for black plastic rubbish sacks................................We are all guilty, we all need to try and make an effort to change our living habits.
