JudiCat63's bio
What to say?? I am a retired SRN, who then went on to do both a BSc & an MSc in Computing /Information Technology. I owned my own company for 5½ years, & act as an IT/Computing Consultant - although I work very little now due to ill health (so early in life).
I have cats, whom I love, I have 2 adult offspring - I am lucky to own most of my house (the mortgage company owns a bit still!!) Have my own teeth.. I sing in a choral choir as an Alto most of the time, but also as a Tenor when needed. I enjoy music, classical, jazz (old style!) - not keen on todays "pop, or alternatives"
I have been divorced so long I see myself as single. I drive & enjoy holidays in Scotland. & any other part of the UK I can get to!.
I have (annoyingly & I guess Sadly) very poor health - I have just had surgery on my neck which has given me partially back my left arm & hand, but I still need surgery to remove the herniated discs...
Along with this I have a "gathering" of other health issues (I say gathering as I hope by me having 11 now, someone or someone's will not have one or more of the ones I have "gathered").
I take everything & everyone at face value so when someone says something (usually about or "at" me) I am unable to determine if they are joking, it has lead to many feelings of great sadness, & a feeling of being bullied. So as young as I may be my home is my fortress.
I live with 4 cats whom I love deeply!! One of whom is a the son of another and is currently 11 weeks old. He is cute & naughty!

Possible damage caused by candlesHello Keith I think your housing association are pulling a fast one! There is NO way candles can make the ceiling go black! I have LOADS of CANDLES burning ALL year round - especially Friday evenings (Jewish!) I have been in this house for 19 years & still no damage to any ceilings! I often burn a small candle (Tea light) in my bedroom as I find the Lavender helps me drift off to sleep faster! It really DOES sound like BLACK MOULD! That WOULD Make you have breathing problems, & it is up to the housing association to resolve it. If you don't have enough ventilation, or heat to "dry" up the dust in your rooms then mould appears and gradually spreads. It's a nightmare to get rid of, & it means them getting specialists in to strip the walls & ceilings back, apply a special compound, then repaint - which is why they are saying you will have to pay £750:00+VAT! As you are disabled you may find that you are also VAT exempt from lots of things. 1. No Asthma medication will cause blackness on ceilings 2. unless you are burning 6foot candles they are not going to cause blackness either 3. If the rooms are not dry, are cold & damp - Then THAT is the problem. Go to them, tell them you have asked around, Don't let them bully you! All the very bestViewDate:

Are you having enough fun?~I/we use messenger & Facebook - it's just she is working & I am working so our times are very limited - they are 13 hours ahead which means a very early or very late call! Technology speaking I have a MSc in it - IT/Computing - so that side of it is ok - we also use VOIP on our mobile phones which makes calls seem very close - no time delay.ViewDate:

Are you having enough fun?I don't really know much about "fun" After a childhood of abuse, an unhappy marriage which ended 27 years ago via divorce, I became just a Mother for many years then just worked as many hours as I could until my health fell apart! Since then it has been very much a single life. The pain of being hurt again stops me from doing much. I work part time & I sing in a choir. I have sent out cards & gifts, but very few will come my way. It's very lonely as my daughter is travelling around the world & is in NZ - so it takes a huge amount of arranging to talk to eachother. Sadly my son has cut me out of his life for reasons I do not know - I have reached out to him, left the door open & welcoming should he want to come back. I have just lost a cat who had only just turned 8 which was unexpected - this time out year is awful - 4 family deaths & 2 pet deaths - so my home is not decorated for Christmas, I feel a tad like scrooge I guess - as in it's just another day - for me nothing special. So Nope! Not having much in the way of fun!ViewDate:

Is recognising 'gender neutral' going to get complicated? Why should we always go the GENDER SPECIFIC route? Why not eye colour? Length of eye lashes? Yes it's stupid but so is making all of this an issue. We can have loos for anyone - after all, I am disabled & I have to share my disabled toilet with whatever has gone before - often not a disabled person! But no one thinks about that do they? They stop at male & female. Be disabled for a week - wracked in pain, forgetting things due to the illness - think about who else has shared Sainsbury's (put whoever you shop at) disabled loo before you - I wipe the seat down, & get on with business . Children growing up now will not only be free to be WHOM they want to be, but will be far better at many things that are being discussed in this issue! Just stop making it an issue - live & let live!ViewDate:

Do you feel lonely?I worked during the time of making friends through school times as both of my children opted for boarding school. So my "friends" were those I travelled on the train with each day - working 19hours a day doesn't do you any good - now I have a tired out body & very few friends most of whom have better things to do than visit me. I guess I'm not very good as social events - clinging to the walls or leaving early...Early life was fairly awful, marriage & divorce followed, & for 27yrs I have been "single" & pretty much alone. I also have "neighbours from hell" but I close the curtains & stay quiet!ViewDate:

Do you have enough facts yet to make your decision about the EU?The UK needs to be an island again to increase its ability to look after its people. & if you read the economy you will have seen we are one more being dragged down by Europe into south decline. It's far from steady! This is why we MUST leave.ViewDate:

Thank goodness I didn't print it out! What position in my make believe cabinet would you be best in? I think that teachers should hold education, maths peeps finance & so forth. As for me, either NHS or IT /communicationsViewDate:

Do you have enough facts yet to make your decision about the EU?Vote of Incompetence for the ENTIRE Government in the UK! Not one party has managed to pull this country out of the gutter it has got into since joining the EU... I feel like I want to start a political party based on the right things in order of importance. LEAVE THE EU ASAP! Refuse to pay anymore in, as we have already paid FAR TOO Much as a small country as it is! Money saved to go to : NHS/FIRE/AMBULANCE/POLICE/EDUCATION staff Get rid of bean counters & pencil pushers in companies that are struggling due to these people who add nothing to the company. Reduce the amount of wages & bonuses of those who currently earn over £M p/a Restart Farming, agriculture for ourselves, Invest money into new steel company, & Manufacturing companies Increase our Armed Forces, Remove all illegals from the UK & Stiffen Boarder control University fees to be paid in full by ANYONE NOT a UK citizen for at least 5 years prior to University. UK citizens to have a free Education - paid for by the money saved by not paying it into the EU. As a personal thing I would like to see the "Chunnel" closed for a few months until we can re-inforce it against immigrants, rats, & dogs carrying Rabies - Update our Military ships, subs, etc. Don't force children to be in education - instead give them a choice of: Caring for the community for 2 years, education for 2 years, or Entering the Armed forces early. Children who don't want to be in education disrupt it for those who DO - so remove the element of those who play up, & we get back to the children who WANT to learn. Write off ALL current student Loans for the price of education - only keep the loans for "living" Universities would do better to raise funds by alternative means - in the US they hold events to raise funds - ours need to do the same! Offering jobs at the end of courses, even basic ones - ie assistant in a Lab, or Library - giving experience along with the education. Encourage young people to care for the environment, invest in our bees, free Hives for people who are prepared to have one in their garden/allotment. By establishing that we are a brilliant nation without the EU will see the expansion of exports from this country. We KNOW how to make things GREAT - so leave the EU, put the funds where they need to go (Oh & Politicians - it's AN HONOUR to server your country - so you live on the basic wage of someone unable to work, & dormitories will be built for you to stay in in London - basically a bed, with bedding, breakfast & evening meal will be provided along with showers & water from the showers being used to flush toilets. No more £k's for "Expenses". Then onto looking after our elderly, & our heritage - thus increasing tourism. All of this could be achieved within 20 years if we leave the EU. If we stay in, then we will be bankrupt within 5years. No jobs, no income support or disability & no NHS.ViewDate:

Do you have enough facts yet to make your decision about the EU?@Edge - Do you ever get the feeling that we British are the only ones WHO STICK TO THE RULES?? Look at France - pays virtually NOTHING in but TAKES OUT £Billions - Us? We pay in £Billions & take out illegal immigrants, job hunting foreigners etc... Time for us to look after ourselves methinks!ViewDate:

Do you have enough facts yet to make your decision about the EU?@MaryDuff - You sound scared why? We are a really Strong country - as a Nation we will survive & THRIVE having left the EU! All you have written is the propaganda of the fat cats who want your pension money. Rethink - read the facts... Staying in the EU will kill us as a country.ViewDate:

Do you have enough facts yet to make your decision about the EU?Cecil you are correct - the amount of money we as a country Pour into the EU is what is supporting it - We have a democratic system - but we are being overruled by Brussels - It really is time to say good bye & thanks for pulling our economy into the mire. Once we no longer pour £Billions into the EU we will be able to pay our nurses, doctors, firemen/women the proper wage they need to live. There will be more jobs as those immigrants who are illegal are being shoved out (Although that is costing us £20k per person! I think it's time we started to charge their country for repatriation!) We have the ability to stand alone, to feed ourselves, to create a better society & still trade over international borders - So the EU will be miffed -tough! - If we leave I think Greece, Spain, Denmark & a few others that are on the brink of complete bankruptcy thanks to Brussels - the only country to have made money is Germany - That is not fair is it?ViewDate:

Do you have enough facts yet to make your decision about the EU?Wilf, If we leave the EU it is only us leaving a governing body - not a trading post - the 1972 agreements of fair (yeah right!) trading to & from the "COMMON MARKET" will still be in situ- ergo we regain power over our own country, we no longer fund every other country in the EU who wants money because joining the Euro monetary system has totally bankrupted them - Spain, Greece, there are more - but look who has gained - GERMANY! We are bleeding no - haemorrhaging £Millions to "Support" failing economy - & it has pulled us back into a recession - WE HAVE TO GET OUT! As a 52yr old I not only remember the joining to the Common Market, but the French burning our sheep alive in trucks or has everyone forgotten that the only thing France takes from us is MONEY?ViewDate:

Do you have enough facts yet to make your decision about the EU?I'm all for EQUAL trading - which is why we joined the COMMON MARKET, but I don't see countries BUYING from us! We are a far too soft country, with some brilliant things that are what help us to be great such as our FREE healthcare! This is why immigration levels are SO much higher than thought - we are about to POUR Millions out of our country to let Turkey & 4 other Old Russian countries join the EU - what will WE get out of it? Longer waiting lists to see our doctors! If we Ploughed back into the NHS, Agriculture, & management of UK businesses what we pay the EU, there wouldn't be massive waiting lists! We need to get out, Police ourselves, take back our own legal system & basically be trading partners, but nothing else with the EU. It's a trap for losing your money, your country, your rights. -
