Should NHS nurses get more than a 1% pay rise?rainyday I could not agree more, the nurses union think they have the government in a corner because of the support nurses currently have, The British public have very little knowledge of who's getting what in the NHS. It is overbloated with administration, and has become a bottomless pit into which the general public are encouraged to throw in ever more money, it needs a total overhaul. And as you so rightly say look at all the other workers in keeping this nation going. Where would any of us be without dedicated people on minimum wages in shops etc., etc., There would be no need for the NHS as most people would starve.ViewDate:

Should NHS nurses get more than a 1% pay rise? The general public are unaware of the abuses that are allowed within the NHS, I know of people who work for the NHS at all levels up to consultants who are permitted to take six months a year off to work for other employers who are registered overseas and consequently get around tax, and by reducing their hours in the NHS pay less tax to the UK government, tell me of another employer that would allow their staff to do the same, where do you think many of the health staff on board cruise ships come from. If anyone deserves a substantial pay rise it is porters, cleaners, care workers. People have been campaigning for free food, free car parking etc., does that include Consultants earning close to £100,000 p.a. Rather than blanket benefits for NHS workers differentiate so that those who really need help get it.ViewDate:

Would you move into a retirement home?So many folk live out their lives in isolation, so sad, being independent doesn't end just because you have chosen to live in a retirement complex. It just gives you the option of company on neutral ground, and then return to your own space. Loneliness is too high a price to pay for independent living, we all need at times the security of having kindred spirits around us. An opportunity to form new friendships and perhaps hobbies. Living rather than just existing.ViewDate:

Should 'wet wipes' be banned?I am an Illeostomist and use wet wipes around the stoma, if I use normal tissues they simply break up and fail to do the job. It is an essential part of my cleaning routine, like nickella I dispose of them in a bag and not down the loo, sadly better education is at this time the only solution. I have recently received wipes that seem to be of the sort that degrade easily in water but sadly they are nowhere near as effective.ViewDate:

Is now the right time to hold a snap General Election? The Prime Minister needs a clear mandate from the Nation to strengthen her position when in negotiation with the EU. those who seem hell bent on trying to bring about another referendum on whether we should stay or go, should get behind whatever government we get to ensure they can make it a success. What sort of society do we have now whereby if you come second, you demand a second running until presumably you win. Time to grow up accept the result and get behind the government wholeheartedly.ViewDate:

Should ‘Exercise Equivalents’ Be Part of Food Labelling?I'm afraid it is all too complicated, it has to be simplified for it to be successful. Most people will not take the time or indeed have the time to read overcomplicated information. Even the relatively simple traffic light system has not succeeded. It has to start with education in schools, as ever we fail miserably when it comes to teaching life skills in our schools.
