Does using your tablet give you shoulder pain?I use a tablet, or my phone as a tablet, a lot. Many people don't realise that you can buy a low cost stand for both tablet and smartphone. You can also use a cheap bluetooth keyboard with a tablet. If it is an Android device you can also use a bluetooth mouse. Add a padded tray for your lap and you can make a much more comfortable setup which can take much of the strain off your shoulders and back.ViewDate:

Is 16 too young to join the Army? They will learn important life skills and disciplines which will form a strong foundation for the rest of their lives. At 16 they are not ready for the front line, but will be far better prepared when they reach 18, than new, 18 year old recruits. I agree that national service would be a huge benefit to the country as well. They are not too young at 16!ViewDate:

Is enough being done to support people with diabetes?I arrived in the UK 14 years ago as a type 2 diabetic on diet and exercise control only. Over time the diabetes has become worse, leading to the use of pills. Of late the only solution offered has been "go on insulin". Through research and a bit of info from a nutritionist I have had to work out a diet which now gives me better control, using the pills. Interestingly the diet changes areas not covered by any of the diabetic information or pamphlets I have seen, such as cutting out dairy and various meats.ViewDate:

Silversurfers and the world of technologyThe only problem with standardising on one platform is the cost. Whether you go Apple or Windows, one pice or another gets costly. With a long term dislike for Windows, I have made a point of finding the apps which let me "cross over". I use an Android phone, iPad tablet and, at home, multiple Linux systems. Work is, as you might expect, is many version of Windows (I run IT). As a sometime blogger and photographer I require that any app on one device will synchronise with any of the others. With careful selection it generally works. I anyone is interested, contact me. As a Silversurfer IT person I am getting into the world of websites, blogging and web marketing. That of course is more about networking and marketing than tech IT. I'd also be interested in being in contact with others with similar interests. -
