I would like to make new friends for general conversation onlyhi bramble,l live on north tyneside at the coast.l lost my husband just over 3 years ago and whilst l have 2 lovely daughters and 2 grandchildren l found it pretty lonely at times,so l joined age concern an d did a few things with them,met people,joined a book club and a lunch club,made some good friends,though you do get the lonely moments. l love reading,cross stitch,gardening.have 2 cats who own me and at times bully me rubysgranViewDate:

I would like to make new friends for general conversation onlyhi starburst,im 71 and have been a widow for 3 years now an although l have 2 lovely daughters and 2 grandchildren it does get lonely at times l also have 2 cats,bella and boy, l did have 3 but had to have angel put to sleep on new years eve,she was 19 and had had a stroke and gone blind,she was a tough old bird right to the end and still miss her l live at the coast at a place called tynemouth which is at the mouth of the river tyne,lovely place to live though we do get a lot of fret in the autumn l love reading and b long to a book club run by age concern,though the,dementia,mental health and people on death row in the usa,l think they must try to get the most depressing ones for our group.l watch a lot of documentries,historical and animals and love doing cross stitch and gardeningViewDate:

Last of the Summer Wine, or, How I learned to Love Top Gear.just watching the reruns of summer wine and enjoying them all over again,just watched the sad ones of compo dying and his funeral,must admit shed a few tears. you are right it was a magical line up,not to be repeated,l dont like compos son and im glad he didnt have a leading role as did his dad,a very poor copy regards tyne2catsViewDate:

Widowed for a year and looking for friends to chat withhi carol,ive been a widow for 3.5 years now and it does get easier but in a different way,i still find myself looking for him and half expect him to come through the door and cant imagine myself with anyone else l do have 2 daughters and 2 grandchildren and quite a few friends so l manage to get out if l want to l forced myself to join age concerns book club and as l met other people l joined a short walking club and a healthy eating club,lts sur prising how many lonely people there are out there l live on the north east coast,beautiful part of the country and the people are very kind,my husband used to say they were just nosy but l find them okay,i m not from up here l was born in the midlands but wouldnt move back,been here for 40yrs now and its home im a cat person and have 2 who own me im just glad they cant tralk orf they would nag all day barbaraViewDate:

Just joined so I'm introducing myself.hi celtwitch,im a newbie just joined today,l live at the coast in north east england,beautiful place to live,l have been a widow for 3 years now and have 2 daughters and two grandchildren,l do see quite a lot of them but they both have to work. l do get quite lonely at times for some reason l find saturdays nights the worst ,but l have quite a few friends and we go out and about lunches etc love gardening and have 2 cats who own me,l buy and sell on ebay and love a game of bingo on line joined on here in hope of making a few more friendsViewDate:

He was 'just a cat.'we to have a stray cat bur he is ferral,he gets fed regulary by me and various people and we call him errol(errol the ferral) he has fathered many kittens round here and l have tried to catch him for cats protection but hes to wise to go near the cage my cat bella hates him with a passion and hes not to keen on her either but l would hate anything bad to happen to him,worry about him in the bad weather but all l can do is feed him,so sad hes unlovedViewDate:
