Is “old” an age or an attitude? My mom used to say that a friend of mine was "old" when she was born! At the same age, we were as different as chalk and cheese, she was very staid and cautious while I was roller skating and travelling..... When I look in the mirror nowadays, and see an old lady (71) my husband tells me that my mind and attitude are about 20 years younger. That's what husbands should be saying, mind you...... "Old" age is an attitudeViewDate:

Which is the most important issue for you?Brexit is an unknown - but could be a huge blow to trade, business and the economy. I hope not.ViewDate:

Should the Winter Fuel Allowance be means tested? My husband and I receive WFA which is welcome. But we are lucky enough just now that we can live without it and we think that it should be means tested.ViewDate:

Who would make a better President - Donald or Hillary? Can't bring myself to vote in your survey as my husband is an American Republican - I know, someone has to be! I think US Elections are as mad as a box of frogs and I try not to speak about it......wouldn't want any of the people who have been interested in the job to actually get the job.....brrr doesn't bear thinking about.ViewDate:

Should an immediate ban on microbeads in toiletries be imposed?I am only just catching up with this subject, must have been oblivious and not paying attention, as I didn't realise the damage that was being done to the environment, let alone to ourselves. Have just done a bit of Googling, and there is a list of UK companies that say they don't use microbeads in any of their products (presume they mean 'own brand' products?). All the big supermarkets plus Wilko and Boots and others. - www.plasticsoupfoundation.org has more information.ViewDate:

Do you support the Junior Doctor's latest planned 5 day strike?Surely history has given most working people enough negotiating tools and skills that we don't have to go back to the bad old days? Or am I out of touch.....ViewDate:

Top movies to rent this autumnWe've just watched "The Hour of the Lynx" which is a Scandinavian movie from 2013 (was originally a play I believe). Dark, low key and steady, as Scandi movies and tv dramas tend to be. But by turns scary, absorbing and emotional - and it stars Sofie Grabol (she of the sweaters....) and a brilliant young 8-year old actor Pelle Falk Krusbaek. If you come across it, worth a watch as long as you are not alone, and have chocolates and perhaps a glass of wine available!ViewDate:

Purchase errorJust bought a Mac (and have iPad and iPhone which I love). Mac is taking some getting used to, even though I'm not a technophobe. Have a few issues with photos on different devices, and just now the Mac has lost connection to btinternet mail, but that may be bt.....will have to study "Mac for Dummies" which seems an appropriate title in my case just now! Do like the whole set up though, despite operator errors, have got used to the day to day stuff on the Mac.ViewDate:

Is modern technology really anti-social? Does it get in the way of real, old-fashioned conversation? What do you think and are your experiences.Yes and it's definitely ok .... (What does he want you to do instead, fill out your Pools coupon?!) I don't know whether ipads/tablets were originally aimed at females, but my experience is that we take to them like ducks to water...we thought the laptop was great - but.... I know a lot of ladies of all ages that use one and carry them around with them. All good - digital freedom - keep hold of it! AnnViewDate:

Who would you choose to replace David Cameron as Prime Minister?Absolutely Mark Carney - a little oasis of class amongst the political ruffians. Get the man a "British" passport!ViewDate:

How are you finding your iPad?Ipads are great, easy to find your way around as you get used to it. Laptops are verh good, but the Ipad will become indispensible - enjoy!ViewDate:

How are you finding your iPad?Love the iPad - I think that it has encouraged a lot of people who weren't completely comfortable with a pc or laptop (or hadn't had the chance to use them at all) to become more 'techie' - it's so user-friendly don't you think? "intuitive" in marketing-speak? I have a few (particularly female) friends who now won't be parted from theirs and use it for emails, Googling, photos, Facebook and who knows what else, because it's so convenient, and they are much more comfortable with it than with their pc or laptop. Thankfully it fits in a handbag and takes very good photos! -
