Tough BalanceYou are living with your daughter and her family I her home, its up to her where the boundaries lie. You may have had years of being a psychologist, that unfortunately, doesn't mean you are right or wrong in your daughters home. It could take you all time to adjust the new status quo. These adjustments will also be difficult for your daughter and her husband as well as you. Try to relax and enjoy your new way of living. My daughter, her husband and young son moved in with me for 6 months when they came back from living abroad until their new house was ready. We always go on well but I admit the first few months were so very stressful. Trying to let them lead their lives their way but also sharing my house was difficult at times. Our relationship survived.ViewDate:

Should the Covid vaccine be mandatory for care home workers?Yes. Care homes are for some of the most vulnerable people in our society and should be protected against this dreadful disease. The same goes for those still living in their own homes but have care workers visiting themViewDate:

Could Micro-Weddings Become the New Normal? My daughter got married 15 years ago. They could have had hundreds of guests and spent £thousands but they decided to keep it small and low key. They only had 12 guests which were made up of immediate family. This was definitely the right decision for them. No struggling with who to sit where, the cost and the stress. They still had a lovely day. We went to a local Michelin stared restaurant where we had a private dining room. My daughter still had a beautiful wedding dress and my other daughter a lovely bridesmaid dress. We all still got the chance to dress up but it was a comfortable relaxed day.ViewDate:

With the vaccination programme under way, how likely are you to book a holiday this year?Definitely not. The vaccine isn't a cure, it just stops some people getting hospitalized. We don't know how safe other places are. How clean are hotels, restaurants, public transport etc. I'm happy to wait a while longer.ViewDate:

Are you happy to have your second jab delayed?I have just received the invitation for the 1st injection. I would rather have the 2nd when the scientists say we should, not when the government say. I know it's not a failsafe measure but if it means keeping me and my family that bit safer and potentially saving NHS money then yes please.ViewDate:

Have your say: what’s the best 2020 Christmas Advert?I really don't like all the sad, sentimental adverts. For me the best advert this year is for Plenty kitchen roll. Its has so much humour and it is like some many household over Christmas.ViewDate:

Would you like it to snow at Christmas? We need cold weather to kill of germs but I don't like snow. It look lovely on Christmas cards and when you look out the window but soon turns to ice or slush making it difficult to walk. My husband works outside on 12 hour shifts, day and nights. His job is made harder with snow.ViewDate:

Should tourists pay for the impact they have on a destination?I find I am paying environmental tax in more countries I visit. Some on arrival at the hotel and others at the departure gate. The amount varies in different places. This year it was $50 in Mexico, $20 in Dominican Republic. I have also paid a daily rate to stay in the Canary Islands and 10 euros to leave Ireland at Knock airport. Maybe our Government should start charging visitors at our airports. It would generate £millions that could be spent on the environment here.ViewDate:

Should spouses retire at different times? It is up to the individual person. I retired early due to health reasons and my husband had just started partial retirement. He hope to retire fully in the next 2 years. We are lucky enough to have good works pensions and paid into private pension schemes so can afford to do this and not have to wait until we are state pension age.ViewDate:

Would you consider retiring abroad?I don't think I will move far from where I am living now. Over the years I have had the fortune to live in a few European countries due to work. We have also lived in quite a few different places in the UK. I think I can safely say we are now settled in our home on the North Yorkshire coast. I have a lovely group of friends, nice neighbours, a nice lifestyle that suits us and our family is not too far away so I get to see my daughters and grandchildren often. We are able travel far and wide on holiday. All things considered I wouldn't want to give all that up to start again some where new.ViewDate:

Should cannabis be legalised for recreational use?I have no problem with it being prescribed for an illness but not for recreational use. Using cannabis recreationally can cause all sorts of health problems, physical and mental. There is also the potential of putting other peoples lives at risk by those who use it and drive.ViewDate:

Have you experienced ageism?I was at the hairdressers only yesterday when the friendly chatty young girl who washes hair and makes coffee (yes, I am being ageist) was asking me what I had been up to get my lovely tan. I told her I spend a lot of time gardening, do a 2 mile walk on the beach every evening, do Tai chi in the park with a fitness group and play outside with my grandchildren a lot. She said how lovely I still keep active and she hopes she will when she is my age. When I told her I'm 62, meaning I'm only 62 not 102, she actually said wow that's amazing, older people are sooo cool now. I almost choked on my skinny decaf latte.ViewDate:

The English question: What is the nation's identity?I am English through and through, British when I have to be on official forms. Why should we feel ashamed to say we are English when the people of Scotland, Wales and Ireland are proud of their heritage and wear their colours with pride. We are not all football hooligans nor are we all racist thugs if we stand up and say we are English and proud to be so.ViewDate:

Do you still consider overseas travel a good use of your money?I am a late starter to long haul travel and love it. I have raised my children to be hard working caring adults, have put money away for my grandchildren's future and my mortgage is finished. I have always loved to travel, this country and abroad. I have had many wonderful holidays with my husband and children, but now is my turn to see a bit more of our incredible world. Yes, I am spending my savings but no one knows how long they have left. I have worked since leaving school with just a couple of years not working when my children were very young and child minding my grandchildren most days so I'm going to enjoy myself spending some of my hard earned savings.ViewDate:

How do you feel about giving money as a wedding gift?My daughter got married last year. They already had a nice house and had worked hard to furnish it so didn't really need anything. They added a short poem to their wedding invitations saying there was nothing they needed just the company of the guests, but, if they felt they had to give them a gift could they have money to put towards their honeymoon. Everyone did this with no problem. As they were going to USA some guests gave them dollars. It saves people trying to guess what to buy and ending up with things you don't want or need.ViewDate:
