Why do some people still cling to religion?GoD = Group of Developers. Just as we have software developers right now creating robots (fashioned out of our own image) then the Developers are creating this planet and others. Man cannot see outside its own world. It can only imagine within the limitations of its own world. Thus, we fashion aliens similar to ourselves. "All this" is merely an experiment on a lab bench, with the Developers looking on having a darn good laugh. Or maybe I just gave them a human trait because it's all I can do. (big grin)ViewDate:

Why do some people still cling to religion?Believing in something does not make it so. Before belief comes acceptance. What intelligent free-thinking brain can accept the stories in religous books. Where did these fictitious characters Adam and Eve get their names ? From the writer/s who made up the story. Wonderful animal creation ??? You mean those savage beasts which rip each other apart to survive. How loving is that ? The bible gives good advice on how to improve relationships with others ? So does How to make friends and influence people. We know who wrote that because the authors name is in the book. How many authors names should there be in the front cover of the bible, and other so-called religious books ? Warnings of over eating and drinking ??? We don't need a "religious" book to warn us, everyone knows what happens if we eat and drink too much. Jesus said ..... ??? Don't you mean It is written in a piece of fictitious writing that an imaginary character said ..... and anyone with commonsense can work out that those who go around trying to persuade someone else to accept and believe something which cannot be supported by any evidence (other than some writings) are bound to attract derision. The sad state of affairs "we" find ourselves in, is because some very nasty people bullied and brainwashed lots of weaker ignorant people into accepting their nonsensical stories as the truth. How bizarre that some force which could create this earth and everything upon it couldn't put something in our DNA so we would know "the truth". And how strange writing wasn't invented before life, it may have made everything so much easier eh. And faith is so powerful eh. Ask those who went to a witch doctor to cure their ebola.ViewDate:

Why do some people still cling to religion? You are asking a question about some imaginary thing which will invoke an imaginary answer about an imaginary thing. Before you know it someone will be enlarging the imaginary subject to include an imaginary place, imaginary creatures, imaginary happenings, imaginary conversations, and a real book.ViewDate:

Resources for DIY willswhat I've done is set up a relation and a local company to act as an executors. The company will handle all the admin and paperwork, sell my assets and pay all bills etc, and distribute the proceeds how I have instructed, but, if the relation is unhappy with how they behave they have the right in law to dismiss them and appoint someone else.. It should make the experience an easy process for everyone. Thats the plan anyway.ViewDate:

How many portions of fruit and veg do you eat each day?I have no idea how many portions I eat. I do have fresh veg and fruit every day, frequently as my own mixed chopped salad, or individually cooked veg, or cooked as a nice spicy meal. Goodness knows how much we have to eat to have 10 portions a day, we'd be eating all day, wouldn't we ... I have a couple of slices of bread a day, maybe some muesli, maybe some fish, and also sometimes dark chocolate with nuts ... heart disease is a genetic factor so I eat with that in mind ... I buy big fat frozen chips so I dont have to deep fry anything, and a bag might last 2 months.... and all my salt-free meals are made by me ... seems a good enough diet to me ...ViewDate:

ReligionI was raised by "christians"... I know they were "christians" because they were hypocrites, who swore, had no idea how to love, beat me mercilessly, made me and all there other brats go to church to be brainwashed with lies and imaginary stories, and then they went themselves to show how righteous they were, but the church didn't get into me, i saw thru it all at a very young age and soon as I was free I scoffed at it and never entertained it again. And I've been a nicer person than they ever were.ViewDate:

What are your favourite travel destinations and why?ahhhhhh Goa ... I visited 12 times. I'm just lazy. I like to rent an apartment, or flat, stay for couple of months, cook myself, and eat out in the popular cheap cafe's and restaurants, find local bars with live music, use local buses when I can, or if pushed, hire a tuk tuk, have clothes made locally, laze on beaches wearing as little as possible, supping cool drinks and dining on spicy veg rice or fish dishes, chill out in the beach restaurant as the sun drops with a honeybee or a hot ginger tea ... and give away a small fortune to locals who need it ...ViewDate:

What are your favourite travel destinations and why?NZ is ageist too ... my last gf, a few years after our relationship ended, emigrated to NZ. I think she was 52 when she moved there, then after a couple of years she suggested I visit with a thought we might enjoy each others company enough for me to also move there, but alas, NZ had a 55 age barrier and I was a little older than that. They would, however waive the age barrier if Ihad about £2.2million. I had to admit to being a little short, and I have, so far, not visited.ViewDate:

What are your favourite travel destinations and why?4 yrs ago I bought a 20 yr old transit converted into a campervan with very low mileage and this van has taken me from somerset right across the south coast and up the east coast to Ramsgate, from somerset thru wales to north wales, thru wales following the south coastal road, and several other journeys. I avoid all motorways, use a satnav at times, I criss-cross thru villages and small towns, where I stop off to speak to locals of varying ages, explore signposted places of interest ... and I have to say this island is beautiful ... those who just dash from place to place on the motorways have no idea the beauty hidden from them, and whilst I have been to quite a few countries I have not found one like this one, although, Colombia also has spectacular scenary, but you wouldn't want to wander around there without a very trustworthy guide.ViewDate:

Religioncourse you can ... all the christians I ever met were hypocrites ... not to mention fantasists for accepting such twaddle as true ... so, you carry on ... btw, did you know history shows that there was no census until 60 yrs after Herod died, that stars dont travel across the sky and stop over lone buildings, that shepherds dont sit watching sheeps in the dark, or the day, and that people carrying gold and stuff would be set upon and robbed, so they werent so wise eh ... maybe the rest of that story is true tho ....ViewDate:

The Jihad threat to EuropeYes celtwitch, it's a bad bad growing situation. Our leaders, MP's etc, are so ignorant of the islamic threat, they should have advisers keeping up with whats happening, not just in UK but abroad too. Islam is peace they say, meanwhile 61% of the quran is about violence and hate, and if they read the so-called lifestory of mohammad they might be shocked at the violence, and depravity, and this, muslims are told, is the perfect life. This example ISIS uses as it model of islam. People don't want to hear the truth. When you move to a new area, mohammad said (according to his lifestory), do nothing until you have sufficient numbers, then cause chaos and disruption (this is what is happening right now), and wait until your numbers swell when you attack and destroy the infidels, or allow them to convert and pay the sharia law tax (this bit will probably happen in another 50 - 100 years. Meanwhile numbers grow and they advancements in society by education, election, and reproduction.ViewDate:

WoW, it was a great time, so lustful and adventurous for the pair of us after we had both had long relationships with dull sexually boring partners before that. Along with it came a great energy for doing alsorts of things we had never done before, like sailing, rock climbing, ballroom dancing, and other stuff .... too bad she discovered a love of money and the company of richer folk .... ahhh welllViewDate:

Advice on a tour to indiathe bugs that cause deli-belly do not live on money, they die very quickly. its mostly caused by the disgusting sanitary arrangements in toilets, the lack of washing and sterilsing of toilets, the kitchen staff who do not have access to toilet rolls and soap, and even if they do they dont use it ....even in fairly decent hotels the toilet facilities for staff are deplorable ...ViewDate:

Advice on a tour to indiaI dont know about touring india, I've never done it, but I have been to mumbai, delhi, and Goa many times. India is huge and youll need to do quite a lot of work to plan what you do and where you do it. A lot depends on how long you plan staying there. Most people get rupees on arrival, but you wont get the best exchange rates at the airport, local shops will offer preferential rates. Crime is rife there. Pickpockets work in gangs, watching people at ATMs, and following people all day if nec looking for an opportunity to steal their bag, purse, phone etc. My phone was taken at a bus station from a shorts pocket which had a zip, and my gf had her small rucksack on her lap on a bus and a lady moved close to her and somehow cut her bag and stole her bum bag containg £100 she had taken from an ATM earlier in the day and her phone and cards. They are good so be very aware. I used safety pins to secure my zips on my bags and clothes. it might be fiddly but no one will be robbing you. Its a great idea to get yourself shorts with zips and buttons on the pockets. I had mine made for me. Pay by cash. Handing over your cards is an invitation to steal your info. My gf worked for a national bank and heard many many stories of people holidaying abroad and a year later a stranger is trying to use their card info in a different country. Did you know there are sites where card info is shared and can be purchased ? Use ATMs inside banks and try to mask your PIN, even bank employees cannot be trusted. Everyone who goes to India gets deli-belly. Mostly its caused by kitchen staff not washing their hands, but can be because food is left hanging around too long. Carry some hand steriliser with you. Another common problem are ear and eye infections. You will need antibiotics to clear it up, ignore the locals who say get some drops from the chemist, that alone will not clear it up for tourists. Many taxi drivers are honest but some are not. Same with Tuk tuk drivers. Buses are great to travel on but do get incredibly crowded. Quite a lot of sexual touching games are played on buses and dont go thinking its a men only pursuit, it is not. Beggars are everywhere. In the major tourist areas its very well organised, Its a bit like scammers online. Gangmasters will own a bus and ferry the beggars to one area and then move them the next day. Babies are used to gain your sympathy but these babies are often borrowed, drugged so they dont cry, and, horrible as it sounds, known to be killed and buried if they show signs of brain damage. Don't go thinking you can change the world by your charity, you cant. If you want to help someone tip kids working in cafes with Rs100, or give to the disabled single people, or provide some food for a poor family ... usually any gifts will be sold, what they want is the money to buy food and clothes, if you get the chance go and see how people live in fields and huts and share their lives for a day .... There are two sides to many indians, the lovely warm welcoming person, and the one in need who will take advantage of visitors with no hesitation. For instance, a shack restaurant on a beach or in a village, will try to charge you for a cheese sandwich and a tomato sandwich when what you bought was a cheese and tomato sandwich. Be alert. Corruption and crime IS a way of life, but, so is the appreciation of tourism by honest indians. Good LuckViewDate:

Best Place for a Long Stay Winter HolidayGoa is good ... find some apartment or flat from a local family, will be very cheap, great beaches, cheap food, cheap booze, try and find the cafes locals eat in ... I used to stay in Candolim, frequented a great cafe about a Km from the beach called Viva Goa, Infantaria on the Baga road in Calangute for great bread and cakes and breakfast, Sheetals at the end of the beach road in candolim for rich north india food (excellent), I always kept away from posher restaurants, the food comes from packets and tins and is expensive .... but you might like somewhere with a more modern infrastructure ... check out tripadviser, loads of info from real travellers there -
