Dinner party food trends through the decadesIn the late seventies, I used to serve stuffed mackerel as a starter, carefully deboned. And the other thing was melon balls and prawns with a sort of Marie Rose sauce, served in the melon shell!ViewDate:

Another newbie - any one from North Devon?I'm from South Devon too, and would be very interested to meet other Silversurfers. Travel isn't that easy for me as I am in a wheelchair (and sometimes the wheelchair space on the bus is occupied), but I try my hardest to get out and about. I'm usually found with my nose in a book! I also enjoy shopping/coffee but haven't found anyone to do this with since moving here - my carer/best friend is totally uninterested...ViewDate:

He was 'just a cat.'I currently have seven cats, all dearly loved. Over the years I have had many others, some for only a short time, some for many years, but each and every one of them has a place in my heart. Perhaps Cooper was sent to you as he knew that you would care for him, even after death, and that his memory would live on through the plaque you intend fitting. A cat may not take up much physical space, but can occupy an enormous space inside one.ViewDate:

Just joined so I'm introducing myself.I've also just joined this site. I'm 57, live in a small village in Devon with my best friend (who also acts as my carer) and 7 cats. Yes, 7. All dearly loved. I have spent many years living abroad, either working or bringing up my family, but am now settled in the UK. I get about in my whizzy wheelchair, but when I am not terrorising the locals, I love reading, painting, writing and talking to people.
