Jeremy Corbyn or Owen Smith - who would you choose?Neither of them but I have a feeling Corbyn will get in again. Either way I don't think Labour will get in power again in my lifetime. I can see some MPs defecting to either the LibDems or starting up a new Labout party. They will probably call it New Labour. This will leave a rump of a leftist party and things will get pretty fragmented. The Tories will just love it. What we need is a strong opposition to put pressure on the government of the day and there is no-one around to take on the mantle as far as I can see. A Tony Blair type of character?????ViewDate:

Is it all about the winning or the taking part?I was useless at games at school and was always the last to be picked. Either that or I was left out completely and had to watch everyone else from the sidelines. The reason was I had bad feet and couldn't run as fast as anyone else. I'd say things were stacked against me and others who could not run, jump or whatever as good as others. There is a definite stigma attached to those who can't do as well as anyone else. I'd say it's the winning rather than the taking part. But they need losers like me to make them look good!ViewDate:

What veg plants should I get for October? Why not try red onions as well as the more traditional type. I successfully grew some last time around along with the garlic. I don't have a lot of patience either but you can just leave them in and they do the rest. There are plenty of varieties to choose from. Consider growing them in pots or tubs. In this way you don't have as many weeds or insects to worry about.ViewDate:

What’s the best way to complain?I still think a firm but polite letter is the best way of lodging a complaint. If it is a very serious complaint I would always send it recorded delivery. I usually then give them three weeks at most to reply and then send a reminder enclosing the original letter. E-mails can indeed get lost in cyberspace and making a complaint by phone would be difficult to follow up if you got nowhere. Still unsure about social media.ViewDate:

Should it be legal to require females to wear high heels at work?High heels are arguably a westernised form of foot binding. I believe shoes with heels above a certain height should be banned. I really don't understand why women would wear them anyway, particularly if they have pointed toes as well. They can deform the feet. You don't see men wearing them so why should women as they are not natural. It should be unlawful for employers to insist on their female employees from wearing them. I wouldn't even wish shoes like this on men! -
