Would you ‘Bung a bob for a Big Ben bong’ on Brexit night? What a waste of money :give whatever has been already donated to the Australia relief fund and if we must have a sound , ring some church bells near Big Ben.ViewDate:

Is a 'stiff-upper-lip' mentality partially to blame for today's mental health problems?A difficult subject but I was a child in the 1939-45 war and everyone needed this stiff upper lip to cope on a daily basis . We were also taught to put others before ourselves, whereas today’s youth seem to think only of them selves .Every generation copes in their own way , social media today has changed society completely so we have to recognise that it has put far more mental pressure on people, who then need qualified help . I have great admiration for the mental health nurses and Drs , but at the moment they seem to be fighting a loosing battle with such huge case loads .ViewDate:

Do we replace technology too quickly?Yes we do but it is a modern generation thing : they must have the latest in everything , and a credit card buys it: they just do not know any different . We live in a world of technology now and sadly cannot go backwards .ViewDate:

Should all pensioners over 75 be entitled to a free TV licence?Yes of course it should be free for all elderly people , most of us have paid for a license for 45-50 years already.ViewDate:

Is it cruel to dress up dogs for Halloween?Until dogs can talk and give us their own views , please leave them alone . Dogs are animals , not humans .ViewDate:

Would you support a delay to the final EU departure?Just get on with it :the more we dither and ask for extra time just prolongs the final outcome .Teresa May has had ample time to put our case , buying more time is wasting time .ViewDate:

Do Millennials deserve £10K for doing nothing? What a hare-brained idea ; have the powers that be totally lost their marbles? A lot of today’s young have been brought up to get everything they want , they do not seem to understand that you have to work in order to save money for a deposit for a house . I know jobs are scarce but they are out there ,and maybe youngsters should made to take what ever is on offer and give them a try . I worked for 40 years in the NHS and I know what hard work is : I am enjoying my pension now but I earned every penny of it . I try to help my family and grandchildren in small ways but they have to learn that hard work brings its own financial rewards and save to buy their own houses if they want to be home owners . Perhaps the law needs changing over rental charges and a cap put on todays extortionate fees.ViewDate:

Were you in the dark about menopause? No , I was not in the dark about it as , as a teenager in the 1950s my mother suffered symptoms but unfortunately she never shut up about them and made our home life hell:it did not matter where we were, bus queue , butchers queue , church, parents evening at school she only had one topic of conversation , “her Change”. I vowed then that if ever I suffered the same symptoms I would not spoil my children’s \ husbands lives . When they did start I was off to the Dr , got myself onto HRT , investigated other herbal remedies which helped , lots of exercise and got on with life , but I never spoilt our home life . I am nearly 80 now , fit and well and I know some women suffer badly but there is a lot of help and many remedies out there , if only women would explore them . With the internet there has never been so much scope for information and self help available to keep us up to date.ViewDate:

Would you be prepared to pay more tax to fund the NHS?Agree with you but sadly the one thing missing in the NHS today is “common sense”.ViewDate:

Would you be prepared to pay more tax to fund the NHS?Having retired from nursing 22 years ago just at the advent of "care in the community " when everyone was supposed to be discharged quickly and cared for at home ; cottage hospitals were closed , geriatric wards were deemed no longer necessary , convalescent homes closed . Beds were closed in general hospitals as would be no Longer needed because of fast discharges to the community . Everyone with any nursing / medical knowledge said this would not work in practice and it hasn't . Beds are blocked with post op and elderly people as there is just not enough care assistants to give the care at home and it takes ages to organise . A friends son has recent been sent home far too early , waiting for the community physiotherapist to call : she rang and was told there is an 18 week wait for physio to call . He will be back In hospital before this ever happens ! The management and powers that be , have no idea how to run a hospital efficiently . Everything costs so much now and funds are swollowed up in updating equipment and new robotic surgery , a wonderful advance to medicine but never envisaged in 1948 at the creation on the NHS . So yes we need to pay more if we want to keep it but also put a stop the terrible waste of resources that goes on in all areas.ViewDate:

Should teaching the National Anthem at school be compulsory? Please teach all children our National Anthem and to be proud to be British : it teaches children respect for their country and especially for our armed forces who do so much to protect our good name throughout the world . Let’s keep the Great in Great Britain!ViewDate:

Do you think 'grid girls' should be banned in F1?What is the problem; if girls enjoy doing this ,then let them, no one is forcing them and I am sure lots enjoy the events and learn from them.ViewDate:

Do men remarry faster than women? As an elderly widow with no desire to remarry or take on another man, I have noticed that widowers are keen to meet someone else, mainly because they want looking after and someone to run their home for them. (a housekeeper would do but they cost money!!). It is the easiest option , rather than trying to get out and build a new life for themselves . It takes courage to do this and it is hard to face the world on your own after a long marriage . Friends and family are wonderful if you meet them half way , join groups , get involved , but men seem to find this hard .ViewDate:

William has embraced bald and shaved his head – was it the right decision?Yes , he looks great , gives him a much stronger , smarter appearance . It is good that a young Royal is trying to get away from their expected look and be individual.ViewDate:

How do you feel about giving money as a wedding gift? This is ok if it is family, ie grandchildren , nieces and nephews etc but to family friends it can be embarrassing if you are on a limited budget. I never wish to appear mean but I don’t see why my pension should go on a jolly for them . If they can afford a wedding surely they should be able to make this include a honeymoon ; if they have been together for years do they actually need one .? Just another holiday for them.ViewDate:

Do you support the idea of a bridge spanning the English Channel? What a mad idea: we have enough problems here already with an NHS not fit for purpose any more, hundreds of roads needing resurfacing , too many homeless people with no where to go but we can spend all this money on a bridge which will just bring in more people to put more pressure on our services . What ever happened to common sense ?ViewDate:

LawnsPlease could you suggest something that will get rid of wild violets from my small back lawn . They first appeared last spring and I carefully rooted them all out but I notice now there are dozens of tiny plants appearing all over the lawn . The lawn is generally quite good apart from a bit of moss at the moment . Would a lawn weed killer deal with these.? Any suggestions would be welcome please.ViewDate:
