Are you in favour of editing old programmes to fit in with today's society?Worryingly we are never told who the 'offended' people are. Just that someone, somewhere has been offended. And so we lose our freedom of thought. The culprits should stop hiding behind their anonymity and be prepared to justify their ridiculous idealisms.ViewDate:

Is it acceptable to share Irish jokes on St Patrick's Day?I know I'm not Irish, but I've had Irish people around me all my life including the friend of my mum who nursed me as a baby when I had pneumonia. I have a half Irish sibling, and one of my Irish best friends constantly sends me Irish jokes. They taught me that we have to be able to laugh at ourselves before we laugh at others, and believe me, I think some things the English do are really incredibly funny! I've always considered myself to be (almost) totally English, but now find I have a huge chunk of Eastern European and Scandinavian genes in my makeup. This has made me change my attitude to being 'English'. But my love of being English hasn't diminished. However, I can still laugh at jokes about the English. However, cruelty and spitefulness are another thing altogether. Being 'anti' any nationality is not funny. Booing at Rugby matches is not funny. Wishing old people were all dead is not funny. Hating someone because you don't agree with their political stance is not funny. So if a joke is intended to hurt or belittle someone, then no, it's not acceptable. But we have to learn how to laugh again at gentle jokes about ourselves. This world is a sadder place since the rise of the p.c. brigade and the thought police. So, if I think of a good joke about an Englishman, an Irishman and a Scotsman, then I shall probably share it. If that's ok with you guys! And did you hear the one about the Pole Vaulter?ViewDate:

Would you ‘Bung a bob for a Big Ben bong’ on Brexit night? Why just the homeless in Westminster? Big Ben is part of the wider UK and the wider UK is paying for it's upkeep and repairs. Westminster and London should fund it's own charities! However, I think it's past time we moved our capital out of a city which is rapidly becoming a foreign country.ViewDate:

Would you ‘Bung a bob for a Big Ben bong’ on Brexit night?Sorry Poppy, I pressed red instead of green on your post by mistake. I was aiming for the comment above yours. Lack of sleep, I'm afraid! However, I'm 100% behind you. London is still the capital of the UK, it is not a self governing state. If the majority voted for Brexit, then the bells should be rung out for all of us. But I'm happy to 'Bung an extra Bob' to hear the bell which we already pay for through our taxes!ViewDate:

Would you ‘Bung a bob for a Big Ben bong’ on Brexit night? If the great British public can fork out £950,000 for fireworks to celebrate the tick of a clock on New Year, and then pay even more to stand and watch them, then the great British public should be able to fund the chimes of Big Ben to celebrate the escape once again from the tyranny of a European based dictatorship!ViewDate:

Should we have a second EU referendum?Fascinating! Unless you can speak to the dead, how can anyone possibly assume that the majority of those who died since the referendum would have voted Leave? All 1.2 million of them might have been Remainers. This is the oddest use of statistics I've ever come across.ViewDate:
