Win a pair of tickets for The Knitting & Stitching Show at Alexandra Palace, LondonNot recovering from any major upset, thank goodness - it would simply be nice to attend. I did follow the Festival of Quilts online, and the online friends who attended. Amazing skills on display there!ViewDate:

Are you keen to go back to your workplace or do you prefer to work from home?My sitting room feels cluttered with all the extra screens/keyboard etc, since I live in a small flat. However, I love not having to be in crowded smelly, unreliable trains or travelling (via the park and ride) in slow/static traffic queues, witnessing road rage etc. My idea of hell, all that! Best of all, living in my slippers - it's been great for the sore feet! :) It's not necessarily an easy choice for the employer as there are obviously security issues, and they have to ensure staff are carrying out their own health and safety audits, such as DSE risk assessments, etc (I note one contributor here obviously suffering when he really should not be!). But there are also some advantages for the companies as it must be cheaper - a very good thing if it helps save jobs, ultimately! My firm has now given up one of its city centre offices and is able to move everyone into the same block, where there wasn't enough room for us all before. And for people like me who don't really need to be in the office - ever - and who like working from home, then it's keeping us happier. I suppose eventually we can still meet up with our friendly colleagues for a drink from time to time, when (if) things ever get back to being sociable again, just as i had been meeting up with colleagues from a previous job once or twice a year. So, all in all, I love working from home - long may it continue. It's clearly better for the environment, too!ViewDate:

Are you having weird or vivid dreams during lockdown?I rarely remember dreams anyway. I sleep like a log and usually wake up naturally, quite early. When I do wake up during a dream - and can therefore recall it - it's usually only a kind of visual remix of things I'm mulling over in my mind; the mundane day to day stuff comprised of snips of conversation or thoughts about people and events that have been on my mind. Occasionally, of course, the mix can create some bizarre visualtions as the unconscious mind doesn't "reason". Those are the ones that can be thought provoking and interesting, I suppose, trying to work out where they came from. During recent weeks, however, I can't say I recall any of dreams. I've been working from home and am generally still tired enough to sleep well, as usual.ViewDate:

Is it ever OK to date a work colleague?I've worked in a few places where couples, indeed several family members, worked quite well together. Some couples began as work colleagues.ViewDate:

Should over 70s be banned from voting on the country's future?More like the under-25s should be banned from having the vote - they haven't yet "lived"; don't know anything worth knowing, yet! They've had no experience of things tried by governments/societies before that really didn't work, etc. etc. etc. And lesson 1 ought to be to respect and listen to their elders, like some other ancient, advanced societies do.ViewDate:

Should seagulls be culled?I wouldn't jump to culling as a first resort. Airports have always had bird problems so someone somewhere will probably have a better idea without actually killing the birds.ViewDate:

Will you be voting in the European Elections this month?Modern professional politicians say only what they think will get them voted in, not for any heart felt principle, it seems. Cynical, arrogant and patronising, and with the country so split on the Brexit issue, in particular, they've been caught out in their blatant lies. The Brexit party seems to be the only one where its people are career business people - from finance, industry, armed forces, journalism, education - such a good cross-section, I think, in terms of representing different areas of society. These people are proven leaders of large, successful, organisations/people and actually answer questions put to them, without so much "fluff"! It's a no-brainer, in my view. The rest of 'em are howling at the moon.
