LonlinessI don't speak from a position of ignorance - I went through a horrifying experience some years ago which destroyed the old bubbly me - I withdrew from the world, gave up work, took to drink, rarely went out other than to nip to the corner shop for food a booze. A routine visit to my doctor saved me. He noticed that my old sparkle had gone and asked why? I blurted out that I had been confronted with severe abuse, physical, sexual and emotional from childhood that I had 'locked away' deep inside me. He put me in touch with a counsellor who, after a few weeks, suggested it might be time to start living my life again. It was hard, very hard, but I did it. I used CBT, relaxation therapy, yoga and self hypnosis, so I know that it can be done - if you want it.ViewDate:

DancingDo you know I have never been able to dance, something to do with a lack of co-ordination I think. it must be 15 years since I last 'had a go' at a wedding, I was told rather bluntly that I resembled a frog in a blender on the dance floor!ViewDate:

LonlinessHealing comes from within and you can make it happen if you want it enough. Sitting at home feeling sorry for yourself is self perpetuating, and psychologically destructive, but unnecessary. Sometimes we just need a kick up the bum.ViewDate:

LonlinessSomeone once told me that 'friends are like the stars, you can't always see them, but you know they are there.' My question is 'what use are friends who are never there?'ViewDate:

LonlinessWell, the world will not be beating a path to your door anytime soon, you have to go out and spread yourself around a bit, smile at people (but not excessively, or they may think you odd) . Speak to people, visit your library, do a college course, volunteer, go rambling, swimming, cycling, in fact anything that puts you in contact with others. On-line friendships are a poor substitute for the real thing and may leave you feeling unfulfilled.ViewDate:

Who would you trust more to be the next US President?Trump says 'let's make America great again' whereas the horrible Clinton witch wants to flood the country with bogus 'refugees.' The thought that Clinton could potentially become the most powerful person on the planet is truly terrifying, America would become a laughing stock.ViewDate:

Should firework use be banned by the general public?I like the non exploding ones that light up the sky, but wonder how people can be entertained by whiz bangs. Last New Year's eve a near neighbour set off a salvo of exploding rockets that went on for 30 minutes. My cat was terrified and my dog was none too happy. I think it's very selfish when so many people and animals are frightened by the explosions.ViewDate:

Do you suffer from Tinnitis?I've had it for about 20 years but it isn't severe, for most of the time I'm almost unaware of it, but if I'm in a noisy environment it seems worse. Sometimes it stops completely, but then starts again, it's like a hissing sound and it's just in my left ear. You have to try to blank it out, that may sound impossible but it can be done.ViewDate:

Magazines at the Doctor's surgeryI don't bother with waiting room magazines, I always take a book, a flask of coffee, and a pillow, last time I went to see the doc I read War and Peace, had a nap and then a reviving cup of coffee while I waited my turn.ViewDate:

Spreading the word - WASPINo-one has yet touched on the reasons for the changes to the age at which women can claim their pensions. 1 We have a fertility rate that is below replacement level, which means the indigenous British people are in decline. Therefore, there are fewer working age people to contribute the taxes that provide state pensions for the elderly. 2 The UK has a burgeoning immigrant population with many of those immigrants having large families whilst the head of the family remains economically inactive, sometimes for the duration of his 'working' age life. Ergo, lots of welfare but few contributions. 3 Foreign aid to corrupt failed states is a serious drain on the nation's coffers. 4 involvement in wars that are none of our business. 5 Huge sums for computer systems that are not fit for purpose that are written off. None of the above will change, we can be certain that when money is tight that the government will make the least well off among us pay the highest price in terms of austerity measures. In a new twist the government has hinted that council taxes will have to rise in order to pay for the influx of man-children from Calais.ViewDate:

TemperatureMind you, I do light a candle if there is a nip in the air (have the Japanese put a man in space?) and even 2 candles if it's particularly nippy! I keep adding candles as the temperature drops, you would be surprised how much heat they kick out. By the time December comes around my living room resembles a Catholic church immediately following the death of a Pope!ViewDate:

What am I doing wrong?"I have achieved enormous success in my professional life, and achieved all that is possible for me to do. I have enjoyed a lifestyle of which most can only dream. I have no ambitions left to fulfill" Have you run a marathon, have you plunged through a flooded cave, have you climbed a vertical cliff face, dived for clams? Have you campaigned for political office, have you written at least one novel, have you knitted a woolen blanket for a poor refugee child? Have considered giving up whinging and starting to live your life and thanking your lucky stars that you have much more than millions of people in this country?ViewDate:

Refugees from CalaisApparently there is a whole swathe of genuine children and lots of girls under 18 hoping to get to paradise UK (I have no objection to genuine asylum seekers) but they allowed in a bunch of men-boys first. I wonder what sort of thought processes are going on within the immigration department?ViewDate:

World War IIIForget USA and Russia, the very real danger is Iran, the world's number 1 sponsor of muslim terrorism. They are quickly building nuclear missiles with which they will threaten Israel, if they do I'm not sure who will press the button first. But, it won't really matter as both regions will be destroyed as well as millions of square miles surrounding the impact sites. The wind will do the rest, carrying fallout across the entire globe. Do you remember the animated film 'When The Wind Blows?'ViewDate:

Refugees from CalaisIf you are concerned about immigration and Islam, please visit the Gatestone Institute website and look at the video entitled 'Nothing to do with Islam.' The man is a world authority on Islam, but he is never consulted by our pusillanimous premiers.ViewDate:

Refugees from CalaisWe can, and we do, but our MP's are unlikely to agree with us, or address our fears for the future of our children. There isn't a man Jack among them with the balls to stand up in Parliament and tell the truth, they are all craven cowards.ViewDate:

Are hospital trusts cashing in on the sick?Yes, the charges are unacceptable, so don't pay them, get a friend to drop you off and then pick you up. Boycott the hospital car parks and let their barriers and paypoints turn to rust.ViewDate:

Grumpy cornerI'm angry that while the nation is glued to 'Bake off' and 'Strictly' or the antics of ridiculously overpaid footballers we are being invaded by people who really hate us, our culture, traditions and religious freedoms. When the war breaks out, will we simply lock our doors and cower behind our sofas?ViewDate:

Refugees from CalaisWe need these 'children' like we need an asteroid storm, and we have no responsibility towards them whatsoever. A simple visual check will confirm, with about 90% accuracy, that these 'little boys' are actually mature young men, some are even older. Their brazen determination to get here is staggering, they know that they are virtually untouchable once they have arrived. When will our politicians find the courage to say NO to 'refugees' and close our borders?ViewDate:

Mary Whitehouse ... - [DELETED_MEMBER]She took it upon herself to try to deprive some of us of a bit of lustful hank panky back in those days and ended up a figure of ridicule in the process. I always wondered if she sprinkled itching powder in her underwear each morning, just to avoid the remote possibility that she might actually smile at someone. She sought to censor the media, films and theatre just because she didn't approve of their content. Mind you, censorship is now rampant and productions of some plays have been cancelled because some people threatened violence! The witch is dead, but censorship is not.ViewDate:
