Is it realistic to expect over 70s to remain in their homes for 4 months? While people over 70 are in an "at risk" age group, that doesn't necessarily mean that everyone in that age group is actually at risk. I am 72 in April but I am in robust good health, I have an active lifestyle, playing golf several times a week Golf is a sociable hobby but one that generally involves groups of up to 4 people playing in relatively close proximity. A well managed and responsible approach to the "19th Hole" should minimise contact with others. I also have a dog who I walk regularly round my small country village. This morning I met a runner and two horse riders. Hardly a big risk. I also have a motorhome which generally involves me spending a lot of time alone with my wife and our dog, out in the open visiting tourist attractions here and abroad. We are largely self isolating anyway and well managed visits to cafe's bars and restaurants (mainly outdoors as my wife vapes) will minimise overall risks. I feel very strongly that self isolation should be a choice responsibly made depending on the individual's own lifestyle. When it comes down to it, if I chose not to self isolate I would not be a risk to others and would be very comfortable with the minimal risks to myself based on my lifestyle.ViewDate:

Is the greeting 'Ladies and Gentlemen' out of date? It's not losing "Britishness", it's losing sight of pure facts. There are only men and women in this world. If someone is crossgender or gay or lesbian they are still either man or woman whether by birth or choice.
