Do you approve of dummies? My first born suffered with Chronic Colic. Sucking a dummy was the only thing that calmed him.ViewDate:

Right to DieI think I should have the right to die when I want. My step sister is 54 years old. She had a double mastectomy at age 47. Shortly after being given the all clear of cancer she was told she has MS. Initially she just had the 'wobbles' as she called them. Over the past couple of years she has got progressively worse. She sold her house and bought a bungalow and had it adapted. It won't be long before she is in a wheelchair and will need a permanent carer. She has already made it clear that she want's to decide when and how she dies, and has put her wishes into a 'plan of action'. Why would anyone want to see someone suffer when they want to 'leave' is beyond my comprehension.ViewDate:

What are your views on TV Charity Begging Adverts?Although I don't give to these Charities [I have my own that I support], the ones that always baffle me are the health/operation ones. e.g. If you give £3 this person can have a cataract operation and you can save their eyesight. How comes it costs £3 for the operation in.....(whatever land)..... but costs the NHS £1000's?ViewDate:

What am I doing wrong?I get that 'independence' bit too. I am because I have to be, sometimes I don't want to be.ViewDate:

TAKING CHILDREN ON HOLIDAY IN TERM TIMEI think the Travel Companies etc., that triple their prices during school holiday season should be ashamed of themselves. It is probably a lot cheaper for your daughter to pay the 'fine' than take the children during school holiday time. As for the other parent, how can she be certain that her children will go along with the 'the children are ill' scenario? Especially if they reappear at school with a sun tan?ViewDate:

I have been forgotten, I no longer existBelated Birthday Wishes. I find I live a 'quiet life' too since my husband died. I certainly know now that his 'friends' were not my friends as I haven't heard from any of them since the funeral. But, hey ho, life goes on. Trouble is I am finding myself becoming more and more like a hermit, that doesn't even want to go out into the big world.ViewDate:

Just joined so I'm introducing myself.Hi everyone, I joined a while ago but have just been a lurker, so thought I would introduce myself. I have 56 years under my belt. I have been a widow for almost 2 years now and was my husbands carer for 4 years. Mum to 1 daughter and 2 sons, youngest son [21] still at home. I am desperately trying to find a job. I am a painter and decorator by trade, but don't think I can physically do that full time anymore. I love anything Arty Crafty and spend most of my evenings sewing as I find TV boring. Recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, B12 deficiency and depression. So all fun and games here. Looking forward to 'chatting' with you all.ViewDate:

Is it me or do you think that teenagers should get summer jobs to fund their lifestyle? It would be good if they could. But for insurance purposes most places won't take on anyone under the age of 16. I started a saturday job when I was 12 and it was great having my own money. But part time jobs are like gold dust nowdays, even without the age limitViewDate:

Facebook PageI am having the same problem. Get all the notifications of new Silver Surfer posts on FB, even a fully fledged member with my card. But no option to post messages or comments on your Facebook page. I log out and log in everytime I use FB so that isn't the issue. Very frustrating when there is something I want to join the conversation :-(ViewDate:

How do you cope with your aches and pains?I have been in a physical job all my working life, so just put down aches and pains as normal. I had to give up work to care for my husband 24/7 for 3 years. He passed away in February 2014. I have always been a 'coper', so the first year I just got on with stuff and it passed in a dog. This year I have begun to feel increasingly 'not right'. I hurt everywhere, shaky hands and feel I permanently have woolly gloves on, not sleeping, loss of balance. Anyway, finally went to the Docs, who ran lots of blood tests and sent me to see a consultant. Just been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, Pernicious Anemia and severe depression. So basically I'm a miserable cow who aches all over. I'm trying to see a light at the end of the tunnel, but so far it is a very dim pin prick.ViewDate:

Is it time to make drink driving zero tolerance?A friend of mine lives in Holland, he got caught for drunk driving. He had his license taken away [not sure for how long]. Now he has it back, he has had to have a device fitted to his car, at his expense, which he has to blow into before the car will start. If it reads positive then the engine will not turn over and the car will not start. If he is on a long journey, he has to take breaks, switch off the engine, then restart after blowing into the device.ViewDate:

Would you buy misshapen fruit and vegetables?I have an allotment and have grown many mis-shaped veggies, Parnsips that look like Octopus ! All taste the same when they are on your plate. We have become too fussy about what things 'should' look like -
