What book are you currently reading?I agree with you. I have read all of Cathy Watson, and Angela Hart books. Also Cathy Glass but she hasn't had the extra training for really difficult children. It is a real and disturbing insight to how some children are treated by their biological parents. It is interesting to read how the Foster Parents gradually help these children to have a normal childhood and are then either moved to a long time Foster Carer or adopted.ViewDate:

What book are you currently reading?I have just finished reading The Girl Who Wanted To Belong by Angela Hart. This book gives an insight to the problems Carers have to cope with. I have read all of her books also Casey Watson who is also a Carer. These two ladies have had extra training to cope with really difficult children who have not known the love of parents. All their books are good and interesting. The difference they make to a child is amazing.,ViewDate:

EvacueesI have only just found this subject. I was 7 and was evacuated with my school friends to Rottingdean near Brighton. I wasn't very happy. When I was older I could not understand why we were sent to the coast nearer the enemy. I returned home after nine months. I experienced being in London during the blitz. Very frightening. We lived between Battersea Power Station and Clapham Junction Railway station, both targets for the enemy. I was then sent to Somerset and stayed with a couple and their 18 month daughter. I often went back after the war. I am still very much part of their family even though my foster parents have since died. I look upon their daughter as my wartime sister. Last week one of my friends who lived in the same village phoned me and we were chatting for an hour, Happy memories.ViewDate:

DNA testingMy son was given a DNA kit for as a birthday present.. It is amazing what he has found out. A convict sent out to Australia on his father's side and someone who was hanged on my side!! He has found out a lot more including an uncle of mine who died in Singapore and another Uncle who was killed in the blitz. A cousin has been in touch, his father was buried under rubble in the same house. He had severe leg injuries. This cousin was so pleased when my son sent him copies of photos of his grandparents. When the house was bombed the family pho0tos were lost.ViewDate:

Older grandchildren who never say Thank Your for Christmas or Birthday chequesWhen my daughter's three children were living at home she always got them to send me a thank you note, sometimes all three wrote a few lines on the same card. I didn't mind.. It is only now that they no longer live at home I never get a thank you. My eldest son's two children rarely say thank you, even when they were young. My youngest son's daughter has never said thank you. I once told her mother that I hadn't received a thank you. She said she would get her to send an email she never did. She is now at University. My eldest grandson came to see me a few days after his birthday but still didn't thank me. A monthly statement from the bank shows the cheques have been banked.ViewDate:

Should all cats wear a bell-collar?I do not think cats should wear collars but they should all be micro chipped.ViewDate:

Do you buy free range eggs?I always buy free range eggs. The chickens need to be free to peck the grass. I saw a Battery Hen Farm once- those poor hens in small cages. It was heart breaking. They are now showing pictures on tv of hens very crowded in a barn. An improvement but the hens do not have much freedom and no fresh air.ViewDate:
