Dianelily's bio
Hi. I live in London close to Regents Park and Camden. I have 4 children and 5 grandchildren. I work part time and also volunteer in a charity shop when I can.
Don't see much of my good friends as all busy with families. Would love to make any new friends for a chat -

Should we use Happy Holidays instead of Happy Christmas? It’s our country and should stay Happy Christmas. Hardly any schools in London hold Nativity Plays now at Xmas which is a disgrace.ViewDate:

Are relationship second chances ever a good thing?I think it depends on the type of person you are. Some couples can get over a betrayal and become stronger. I found when I was in this situation we did try again but the trust had gone.ViewDate:

Would you choose a Walnut Whip without the nut?I used to love walnut whips. Hadn't had one for years then suddenly I treated myself to one. Ooh love them. Always take the walnut off, cause I don't like walnuts. So, yes, would definitely buy with no walnut on.ViewDate:

Are ‘non-competitive sports days’ really better for school children?Children have to grow up knowing life is competitive. Schools ruined sports day. Races etc seem to be run in teams as well rather than individual races. Kids have to get used to the ups and downs of life.ViewDate:

Do you drink a cup of coffee every day?First thing I do when I wake is make a strong cup of coffee. 2 or 3 more during the morning. Hardly ever drink coffee in the afternoon though.ViewDate:

How do you pick up the pieces when your husband takes his own life?Hi Livelife3. Very sad to hear your story. I have had some bad times too, although nowhere near as bad as yours. If you would like to chat please message me. More than happy to chat with you.ViewDate:

Chocolate - from the fridge or at room temperature?Love my chocolate at room temperature. Even if it's melting a bit in this current warm weather. Hasn't got the same pleasure straight from the fridge. Still can't beat cadburys milk chocolate for me. I took my grandchildren to Cadbury world and the smell is delicious!ViewDate:

Was life in the past preferable to today? When my children were young they all played out with friends. More socialising. My grandchildren are lost if they haven't got iPad phone or games console. They do go out with friends but nothing like my children did. My kids used to make games up both inside and outside the home. Socialising is how many so called friends they have on Facebook. Texting and social media is how they keep in touch. But as one of my grandsons said you could just go and knock on a friend's door. Families and friends are scattered now. No community anymore. Everybody too busy rushing around On saying all this I would be lost without my iPhone and iPad these days. Sad I thinkViewDate:

Do you want another EU Referendum?I find it unbelievable that we had a referendum and now people who didn't like the result want another one. So our votes don't count if they don't like the result. Nigel was the only one worth listening to and said it how it is. Bring him backViewDate:

Is now the right time to hold a snap General Election?Losing the will to even want to vote anymore. Nobody I would even want to vote for these days.ViewDate:

Would you like to see Woolworths back on the High Street?Woolworths is one of the shops I miss most. You could basically get anything you quickly needed e.g pencils/pens/sewing cotton. All the little bits. Poundland do sell these items but are of such bad quality I don't buy. I have to go to a department store like John Lewis to buy these kind of things now.ViewDate:

Should the State Pension be means tested?I was also born in 1954 so missed out on receiving my pension. I've worked since I was 16 never claimed any benefits my entire life until now. I never earned enough to save for later life but bought my 4 children up with no help from the state. I am still working although part time now and receive a very very small amount of state help. The older generation who have no savings to fall back on are treated abominably by this country. Other countries look after the elderly. This country does nothing.ViewDate:

Just joined so I'm introducing myself.Hi. I'm Diane. Just joined. Haven't a clue what to say as yet. Need to work my way around the site. Recently joined Facebook and haven't quite worked that out yet. I'm 63 working part time. Children all grown up and not at home. Feels lonely at times even though I see quite a lot of my children and grandchildren. Look forward to finding my way around this site -
