Should wearing a face mask be compulsory in shops?Yes, and then we all know where we stand with the rules! They also give us some extra protection. Certain people with some medical conditions and young children should be exempt, of course.ViewDate:

Do you feel that freedom of speech is becoming restricted in the UK?I believe in the freedom of speech, but I don't think it gives you the right to be abusive, spread lies, be racist, sexist, homophobic etc! Say what you think, backed up with knowledge not hate! Freedom of speech shouldn't give you the right just to be nasty to whoever you please!ViewDate:

One pair of handsThe words, "shadows of history there", creates a wonderful imagine of your dd's hands, and so true that we all carry and show our history in our hands, beautiful! My dad was a Yorkshire miner.ViewDate:

Win a £50 National Garden Gift VoucherDuring lockdown our garden has been our salvation; it's given us something to focus on and be positive about, everyday! It would be lovely to buy something beautiful to add to it!ViewDate:

Will you download the tracing app when it becomes available?I voted yes, but I'm not sure how useful the app would be in our case. Anyone traceable that we might come into contact with, I could message! However, because we are retired we can be keep socially distanced using sense, so if the scientists are right, we should be fine! Others at work might have bigger problems and probably meet more traceable work colleagues and the like! They are more open to risk. Some people don't have mobiles they can download apps to! Of course!ViewDate:

Have you fallen victim to a scam?We ignore calls from unknown phone numbers on the landline and mobile; we delete emails from unrecognisable sources; we guard against offers and promotions that look too good to be true (they usually are!). We don't give out our email addresses and phone numbers to random people, which includes high street shops that we're buying from, unless absolutely necessary and we know they're a genuine well known shop and there's a very good reason for them asking such details. We never give out bank card details over the phone unless we have phoned them eg reputable holiday companies. (Martin Lewis always says never pay for anything by bank transfer!) Passwords - instead of writing them out fully (because I can't remember them all) I write out clues that only I know the answers to! I do worry that as we get older we are more vulnerable to scammers and believe that we should be offered more help and protection from our banks and government. We have a large ageing population (we are not all IT Whizzkids) and we need to feel safe, after all, our money was hard work to acquire! If I feel doubtful about any financial transactions I stop, and don't proceed. Trust your gut instinct! Last but not least, I check with younger family members if I feel that I need reassurance.ViewDate:

Should smacking children be banned across the UK?I can't understand why people think it's right to abuse children, it's an archaic way to behave! We're supposed to be civilised!ViewDate:

Should smacking children be banned across the UK?Smacking children is a form of abuse and should not be allowed! It's using fear to control children, taking away their self confidence and teaching them to be aggressive! You wouldn't smack an adult if it disagreed with you and didn't obey you! Parenting skills ought to be taught to parents before a baby is even born! Because it work for my generation doesn't make it right! I as a child, grew up in fear!
