Has Theresa May got the right financial balance for pensioners?I think that Mrs. May is biting the hand that feeds her and this may translate into her loosing thousands if not millions of votes. I believe that there is a solution. The generation of 'Silver Surfers' have always been a giving generation and where help has been needed anywhere in the world, we have always been 'first at the plate' with our purses and wallets open. Perhaps, for the time being, It's time to pull back. Under the EU regulations we have to contribute a percentage of our GDP to the European Foreign Aid budget and this costs the UK approximately £13Billion per year. On top of this figure we have to borrow that £13Billion to give away and so we have to pay interest on top. The actual cost of our contributions to this fund is probably in excess of £14Billion per year. With what we could save when we leave the EU plus this £14Billion, we should have enough to address the real plight of many pensioners in the UK, we should have sufficient funds to rapidly build the Social Housing that we need, we will have adequate funding to properly look after our military personnel returning from war torn environments and we should have sufficient funds to address the needs of OUR disabled and mentally needy population. For a limited time...say the lifetime of the next parliament...5 years, We could have an additional £70Billion to spend on the needy in this country. In other words, it is time to remember that CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME.
