Does Bad Luck Come In Threes?Hallo Alain I can lend you my cat. He's not handsome it true, but I think he might give the rats a run for their money. You can only borrow him. No charge. Mind you, he'll probably get lost finding his way to your house and its drains. Do you know when things go wrong they go wrong. Not just in a minor way, it's usually a major crisis and it sounds Your World seems to be a slight disaster area at present. Never mind. Think of those long winter nights and the shared scraps? I hear the cat (Boots or Bo for short) scraping at the door. Are you sure you don't need his services? He's black and white with matted bits in his coat from time to time, apparently nature intended to annoy me with having to remove the 'matts' with him 'trilling', God save me. And he gets fed on the bestest dry cat food we can afford. Sometimes this is not within his esteemed preference - so 'go without' comes to mind. I think we're all in for a long hard winter - hey ho never-the-mind. Keep smiling. SheilaViewDate:

Hello - looking for like minded friends to chat withI carry a few more years - but I'm trying to lose them - If I were to say I was looking forward to Monday morning and Slimming World meet - you'd know exactly what I mean. The two years of lock-down really got to me. And now the latest news about Lizzy - well, that's got me too. I live alone and the only two who I get to nag is the dog and cat. (Or do they nag me?) I don't mind cooking although it's a bit of a chore for one. I live quite near the sea in Somerset UK - can be high winds and traffic jams. Trying to get out of town Friday afternoons or Sunday lunchtime is a nightmare. It's very daunting when your new to a place, but you will make friends in time. I admit that I do suffer with 'can't be bothered' it's all an effort, but as I said I blame that on the lock-down too. Love to hear how you're doing. All the best SViewDate:

Just joined so I'm introducing myself.Hello Celtwitch - join the club for old fogies and eccentric dog owners. I've been on my own for seven years and now at the age of xxx xxx I don't mind supporting those with the same affliction. I live in Somerset (where the cider apples grow) not that I see any apples or trees - I'm thinking they may all go to the cider makers. I've a small retirement bungalow which is on top of a hill overlooking the sea. (Who ever would build them on a hill? Out the way?) Even the milkman starts out on Friday to deliver Sat morning. (he did the other night, crept in after dark). Arti is my large Scottie. Arti suffers attitude and lately we've had problems on who is going to sleep on my side of the bed. I think it's solved. Isolation. That's a problem here in the town where I live because I came from Norfolk (it was a long walk) and I'm not a native of Somerset. I was bred in Surrey graduated to East Sussex (where I lived for over 30 years) and moved to Norfolk for ten years, then moved nearer family who are all very busy with life. Its hard to make friends here even in the U3A, so I understand completely how you feel. My best wishesViewDate:

Does anyone else play the Ukulele?I play Ukulele as I posted last night - not realising there were others with the same hobby. I live in Somerset and I'm sure that if anyone comes on holiday hereabouts we can get our Ukulele group to host a visitor or two for the evening. The group consists of approx 28 players (one or two more wont matter) - we meet up in a pub on a Monday night. Mixed abilities, so dont worry.ViewDate:

Calling all Dog lovers ... join in with our Dog Chat!Hi everyone - I've a Scottie (Mmmmm) This is my third Scottie and they are all different. I thought this would be a friend for a 17 year old Westie who still plays and grumbles as you do at that age. Anyway, the Scotties name is Arti and he's 20 months old. He's wonderful in doors loves everyone - But, out walking he wants to kill! Has anyone any tips that might help - he's not neutered as yet? I don't let him off the lead (we are not a popular pair) and he wears a muzzle. I've tried finding a training class - but for some reason no-one replies to my pleas of desperation. I sing when he goes mad and walk smartly by everyone on the other side of the road, (having stumbled through raging traffic with dog dangling killing the lead) so its not me giving off negative vibrations I don't think. I'm not giving up - there must be a way?
