Best over 50 career changesAs a teacher myself I would recommend you drop in to your local adult education college and ask there. These days you'll need a teaching qualification which can often be done in parallel with your new job, PTLLs (preparing to teach in life-ling learning) is a good start, many college will do this and can explain. Next you'll need a DBS (criminal records check) which is usually done by your new employer or the college. Choose to pay the annual subscription (do it at at the application stage) then it becomes portable and yours. If you are not going to train in your current in your current trade you may also need to train for you new skill. I changed from the motor industry to teaching ESOL English. It's a steep learning curve and hard work but 10 years down the line it was worth it. Good luck!
