Should Theresa May Resign or Remain? She's plunged the country into chaos and it certainly wasn't all that stable before. She said she wouldn't call an election and then changed her mind in an attempt to get a majority, which she already had. Now that she no longer has it, panic appears to have set in and she seems ready to sell her soul for any support including the DUP with little regard for the Pandora's box which is ready to add more instability to her "strong and stable" leadership. She did not meet the people. Her campaign was stage managed. The people she should have been meeting were charged with sweeping the floor before she arrived, and then they were sent off home early. I voted Tory in the previous election and never forgave myself when they started to deny assistance to the most vulnerable members of our society. I was in agreement that the benefits' system needed an overhaul but, perhaps naively, I thought they meant taking people to task who appeared to be making a career out of being on the dole while the rest of us worked to support them. I did not vote for the bedroom tax or for the cut in disability benefits. My social and moral conscience has been unsettled for years and this was the most welcome election to put that right. I come from a Tory family, I've been educated in both school systems (state and private). I now work freelance in education and we have never been in such disarray with budgets being cut and teachers who want to teach but have to tick boxes instead. The children suffer from constant scrutiny and examinations and I work at primary level. We need change desperately. I had hoped that the whole country would see that Jeremy Corbyn is the epitomy of a good politician. I could see nothing to support the Tory manifesto compared with the Labour manifesto and, for those who said repeatedly about it being untenable, there were as many top economists saying otherwise. I'm not for robbing the rich to pay for the poor but I do think we all need to make our contribution. It is so unfair that whatever I manage to save in a year, I lose when my tax bill comes in and I don't earn a lot. How can anyone keep supporting a system where the wealthiest amongst us manage to ship theirs elsewhere so they can keep it, with a government who allows this to happen? We have needed an authentic, genuine, compassionate leader for years. I have no idea what's going to happen but I hope I see the day when Jeremy Corbyn is in Downing Street and get the opportunity to put his Manifesto into practice, for the good of all of us.ViewDate:

Should Theresa May Resign or Remain?Hello 'ladybirdmad', I'm just wondering if you're not concerned at all about how little debate Theresa May entered into pre-election, which every other potential leader of a party would normally do. Whilst I entirely respect your opinion, I do wonder how a woman who seems to have riled the EU so much already and who refused to be interviewed on Woman's Hour could be trusted to enter into such important discussions. After all, she changed her mind, called a snap election and is now making strides to get anyone on her side who will get her the majority (which she already had then lost) and she seems to be selling her soul in the process and opening up a can of worms. You say that she took a firm stand on talks for leaving but she was a remainer before the referendum. She should have been running the country before the election but she's plunged it into chaos. Do you still trust her?
