Are you happy to remain opted-in for organ donation?I. Immediately opted out of the scheme as soon as I heard yesterday as, like Bob Scott, I have very personal reasons. I have no objections to anyone wishing to donate but there is no way I would trust an outsider to make that decision. Donation is a very personal matter and it would seem wise to make your wishes well known so that no one else has to make that decision. If anyone wishes to opt out or opt in you can do so online and then let your friends and family know what you have done. The decision is registered with the National Donation Register. https://www.organdonation.nhs.uk/register-your-decisionViewDate:

Would you feel confident taking a holiday flight from 1st July?I only flew once with Ryanair and would never do so again. Michael O’Leary has always seemed put profit before passenger comfort. HIs appearance on the media this morning did nothing to reassure me. His assertion that no one is going to adhere to the 14 days when returning home is a most strange way to base a business model on and goes against what we are being asked to do. On a usual turnaround time of 20 minutes per plane I cannot see how cleaning would be effective enough.ViewDate:

Does the new 'Stay Alert' slogan convey a clear message?I can only agree with all the comments made up to now. Stay alert can mean anything you decide on. This will be nothing but a free for all. Where has common sense gone. Originally they were listening to the science from a man who went on to flout his own rules and so many of the scientists disagree with each other. It appears that in trying to balance the economy and lives the economy has won out. Lobbying in London? This is too soon.ViewDate:

GordonS5 showcase imageGordon, this brought back memories. My father was a Manchester/ London driver, fireman during the war. His whole family were railway men. He told stories of cooking his egg and bacon on his coal shovel ( which was so heavy I couldn’t lift it) and the enamel drink jugs were a permanent fixture. A spoonful of tea and sugar wrapped in paper plus condensed milk. Would I be right in thinking this was taken in the old Central station now the exhibition centre? It looks familiar. If it was my Dad was the last driver out of there and as he left they were starting to take up the track. LyndaViewDate:

Daily diaries of those who are self-isolating due to CoronavirusHi Joy. Weird times indeed. Just think in 100 years they will all be talking about us in history lessons. What will they be saying? How well we coped or not? Or will they say what on earth were they thinking. Science and technology advance so rapidly nowadays we will probably be their medieval ancestors!ViewDate:

Daily diaries of those who are self-isolating due to CoronavirusSame around here. I am attributing it to the change in the weather. Hopefully it will make all the people ignoring the advice to stay at home from doing whatever they feel like. Either that or the police are out with their ticket books. It really is eerie.ViewDate:

PotteringHi Diane. Having just read Pottering I am wondering if you have been following me around the house! The only difference being embroidery instead of crochet which my grandmother in law tried to teach me but gave it up as a bad job. It was like you were recording my week so far.ViewDate:

Silvermite showcase imageThanks for the tip on Wexas. I have looked at there web site and am adding it to the list for next year. I haven’t travelled with Saga. Is there something I should know?ViewDate:

Silvermite showcase imageSaga are offering a summer garden trip to Tromso next year that I may think about. However Saga are now more expensive than Cunard so maybe not. I would love to see the Northern lights but I think it has to be in winter and I don’t like the cold .ViewDate:

Daily diaries of those who are self-isolating due to CoronavirusHi Wcrester Now you know of someone who has had the virus. I am just about out of quarantine and am feeling absolutely fine. I was very lucky to have mild symptoms. So now, like you, I am starting to feel cabin fever. I was so looking forward to being able to get out again.ViewDate:

Daily diaries of those who are self-isolating due to CoronavirusHi Lionel. Yes it was definitely a shock to the system. I was really surprised at how down it made me feel and I have been in quarantine for a week! Still the sooner we face it the better. I really feel for people with no garden.ViewDate:

Daily diaries of those who are self-isolating due to CoronavirusDay 5 and the virus symptoms have almost disappeared. I spent a lovely morning potting up 67 plug plants whilst sitting in the sunshine ☀️ listening to an Audiobook. I have just been reading through all the messages on facebook from our community support group which gives all the information needed for local businesses who offer takeaway, order collections and delivery service of food. We have been asked to put fairy lights in windows to show support for NHS workers. My next door neighbour is getting the flag ready to put out when all this is over. So much uncertainty, so much help and kindness. Stay safe everyone!ViewDate:

Looking to chat with like minded, self-isolating friends!Hi Adrianne. Welcome to the UK group. How are things in Oregon? I am in self isolation as I have had mild symptoms of CV. Like you I am gardener so I am sure my garden will receive more attention than ever this year! I also like to travel and have had to cancel a river cruise in April. It was to visit the Keukenhof gardens in the Netherlands with a garden expert on board. Such is life! Fingers crossed now for the next booking in September. I also live on my own and it will be quite a challenge to cope with what is to come. Thank goodness for Netflix and Amazon.ViewDate:

Daily diaries of those who are self-isolating due to CoronavirusHi Everyone. I am now 3 days into the cursed CV. Fortunately I have mild symptoms which I am hoping will not evolve into anything more. I live alone so self isolation is not a problem. My sanity has been saved by rediscovery of embroidery, Netflix and coffee creams. All being well and if the sunshines I shall pot up the 50 plug plants I bought on Monday so that when all this has passed I will have lots of colourful flowers to enjoy. I am really enjoying reading all the posts.
