Do you find car headlights dazzling when driving at night?I had to stop driving at night because of the severity of dazzling headlights. I still can't drive at night following cataract removal - very disappointing. I wonder it there is any research to see how many accidents are actually caused by being dazzled, or is it just a nuisance?ViewDate:

Will you be sending Christmas cards this year?Sadly, I won't be sending anywhere as many cards as I would normally, simply because of the cost of postage. Such a shame, as I do love receiving them and hearing from people I would otherwise probably lose contact with.ViewDate:

Is it realistic to expect over 70s to remain in their homes for 4 months?I think I can see some underlying good sense in this to help prevent deaths from Covid-19, but I worry more about the social isolation factors. What if someone lives a lonely existence without a support network or access to internet for shopping? Loneliness is already a known killer, are we looking at a Government sanctioned increase in such losses? Before such measures are enforced, communities must be made to form support networks.ViewDate:

Will you be sending Christmas cards this year?Christmas cannot begin until I have written my Christmas cards. I settle myself away from the family, door shut, cheesy Christmas music playing and a glass of something nice to thoroughly enjoy myself. It's a real pleasure to go over my lists, each card makes me think about the recipient - often someone I haven't seen in ages - and as I write my best wishes for them, I hope that I pass on a little of that pleasure. Long may the tradition last!ViewDate:

Should the government address the issue of tree netting? My area is undergoing huge increases in housing building etc., and that is as it should be. However, these hideous nets have NOT been used even once. Developers can work with nature when they want to. Incidentally, should any nets appear near me - they won't be there for long!ViewDate:

Is it time for the 'smear test' to be rebranded?Media are whittering on about the word 'Smear' being an off-putting factor - but I doubt that. I reckon there are far more off-putting factors such as: Lying like an oven ready turkey with a million-watt bulb illuminating the nethers, then trying to think of something to say while a virtual stranger inserts a freezing speculum somewhere that is usually very private ("Going anywhere nice on your holidays, this year"), and then - it can be ruddy uncomfortable at the time and quite sore afterwards! Put off by a word? Nope. Having said that - ladies - just do it! Lives are saved. :)ViewDate:

Should a statue of Margaret Thatcher be erected in her home town?Yes, of course there should be a statue to Margaret Thatcher! Not only was she the first ever female Prime Minister, but she was an epic one. OK Many people didn't like her leadership (I have to say I am included in that number), but in hindsight she was strong, clear-headed and honestly believed that she was working for the good of the country above her own ends. Marmite she may be - but forgotten? Never.ViewDate:

Should Strictly introduce same-sex couples?Although I have no personal issue with this, my husband, (who I love and who is a star in every other way), is a victim of his upbringing and, although he tries, he simply cannot come to terms with openly gay couples. I have already had to give up watching so many otherwise great programmes because I'm sick of hearing his grumbling and growling. I adore Strictly so this possible move makes me very sad as I will have to stop watching that too. I know it's my husband's problem - nobody else's - and I could simply tell him to hush up and put up but I done it so many times and it wears me down. PRETTY PLEASE, Strictly, leave the 'Normalisation' for the rest of the programme planners. Thank you.ViewDate:

Are you offended by the Greggs Christmas Advert?Personally, I am not offended by this because I do not hold any strong Christian beliefs. However, I am saddened on behalf of those people who do have a Faith because they are being ridiculed for that Faith - in this forum as well as in the wider media. It appears to have become fashionable to attack Christians. Is that because they are a 'soft' target - given the fact that any similar imagery aimed at ANY other religious following is likely to result in somewhat more than righteous indignation? May I, with respect, suggest that those people laughing from behind their keyboards show a little more understanding? Thank you.ViewDate:

Clever uses for baby wipesCat owners - baby wipes are brilliant for cleaning those little spot butt-stains they leave where they sit. (No fault of the cat, they can't help it). In fact, any marks on the carpet can be wiped away in an instant with a baby wipe. I learned this from a carpet fitter many years ago and it's my favourite thing.
