“We can lock up and leave – and everything will be fine”
Independent living in a Churchill Retirement Living apartment means a truly relaxed retirement – with security and safety built in. It means you can enjoy your independence – with no worries.
Owners Sheila and Harry Eyre make the most of their lock and leave apartment by enjoying life both at home and abroad since moving into Barnes Lodge in Dorchester.
Shelia and Harry moved into Barnes Lodge with one aspiration in mind – to spend the colder months of the year travelling the world.
Sheila comments: “Since retiring, we have been on many trips and in the last few years we have been on several world cruises. We had wonderful neighbours, but we came to realise that relying on family and friends to look after our house while we were away for months at a time was too much to ask, so we began looking into an alternative way of enjoying the best of both worlds.
“Living at Barnes Lodge gives us the peace of mind to just lock up and leave, knowing our home is safe and secure while we are away. The Lodge Manager is on hand too, to check in on our apartment from time to time and keep it warm during any cold snaps. We don’t have to worry about a thing.”
Barnes Lodge is a delightful development of 40 one and two bedroom apartments. The development is located on Bridport Road and has a Sainsbury close by. The nearby bustling high street is home to a number of specialists shops, boutiques, restaurants, coffee shops and high street chains.
Like all of Churchill’s retirement developments, Barnes Lodge (pictured) benefits from a camera entry system, which monitors all visitors to the building. For added peace of mind, Owners can also inform the Lodge Manager of any planned holidays or longer spells out of the country so extra care can be taken to ensure their properties are safe during their time away.

Barnes Lodge is open daily 10am – 5pm. Prices start from £220,950 for a one bedroom apartment and £354,950 for a two bedroom apartment.
