Rangeford Care at Wadswick Green ranked “Good” by the Care Quality Commission

Rangeford Care, later living village Wadswick Green’s domiciliary care agency, retains the “Good” rating by the Care Quality Commission following their latest inspection in November 2019.

The Care Quality Commission is an independent regulator of health and adult social care in England aiming to make sure health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care.

As part of their inspection the Commission surveyed several Wadswick Green residents who benefit from Rangeford Care services as well as Rangeford Care staff members. Residents’ relatives were also interviewed and provided feedback on the service.

The commission noted that residents felt valued and actively involved in making decisions about their care, with many praising the staff’s approachability and flexibility. Also highlighted was the service’s prompt response to residents’ changing needs as well as staff’s ability to adapt to each residents’ needs and preferences, creating tailored care plans.

The management team was also found to be “caring”, “kind”, and was noted for respecting residents’ dignity and privacy and encouraging their independence.

Commenting on the inspection’s findings, Rangeford Villages’ Chief Executive Officer Howard Nankivell said, “We are delighted that the CQC continues to recognise our staff’s ongoing efforts to help residents enjoy their retirement to the full. In particular, I’d like to thank the Care team for their passion to continuously improve our services and their awareness of each resident’s needs and preferences. It is by developing these strong interpersonal relationships that we make Wadswick Green such a great community to live in.”

Set over 25 acres in the rolling Wiltshire countryside on the site of the former HMS Royal Arthur Naval College, Wadswick Green is a contemporary independent later living village for over 60s comprising 247 one to three bedroom apartments and The Pavilion with central amenities, where the community has grown since the first residents moved-in in Spring 2015.

Residents can benefit from onsite care support in the comfort of their own home provided by Rangeford Care. Custom care packages can be created to help retirees with daily tasks such as getting dressed, washing and preparing meals and keeping them company or just short-term rehabilitation following an operation.

Almond Close is the newest phase of apartments at Wadswick Green, with prices starting from £335,500. There are also The Pavilion one bedroom apartments, available from £249,950. The next phase of apartments, Ash Lane, is set to launch in February 2020.
