Royal British Legion puts the kettle on at The Croft

The Bourne Royal British Legion (RBL) Women’s Section will hold its annual fundraising coffee morning on Saturday 12 April, with the support of The Croft in Bourne, Lincolnshire.

The Croft is a lifestyle living development by Larkfleet Homes and Keystone Developments and, for the second year running, the RBL coffee morning will take place in the beautifully restored manor house on site.

All are welcome to attend the event, between 10am and noon, which will raise funds for service and ex-service men, women and their families.

As well as enjoying a cup of tea and a slice of home-made cake, visitors will be able to take part in a tombola and raffle and browse a range of stalls including books, bric-a-brac and a special Easter themed stall.

The coffee morning is just one of a number of the events held during the year by the Bourne RBL Women’s Section, which last year raised over £2,000 for the Royal British Legion.

Judith Smith, treasurer of the Bourne RBL Women’s Section, said: “We are delighted to be holding our coffee morning at The Croft again this year and we are grateful for the ongoing support of the development.

“These events help ensure the Royal British Legion can continue with its important work, as well as providing a great way of saying ‘thank you’ to all our service men and women, young and old, who give and have given so much for their country and need our support.”

Karl Hick, Larkfleet CEO, said: “The Royal British Legion does a huge amount to help service and ex-service men and women and their families and The Croft is only too happy to support this event.

“Last year this coffee morning was buzzing with life and there was a great atmosphere as the local community all came together to raise funds for this important cause. We very much hope that it will prove even more popular this year.”

The Croft development consists of 75 one, two and three-bedroom homes set around attractively landscaped gardens. The manor house, which has been fully restored to its former glory and stylishly refurbished, is now used as a communal hub for residents.

During the coffee morning event, visitors will also be given an opportunity to look round The Croft’s showhomes and see for themselves how the development has taken shape.
