92 Today

92 Today

I wish that I could be like you—
Oh no you don’t, I’m 92.
How does it feel to be so old?
Like 1940. But not so cold.

As long as I can get about
But lockdown means I don’t go out.
Facebook is where I meet my friends
And chat about the latest trends.

Crosswords-three or four a day;
Music helps the time away;
Books and Television thrillers.
Crime, CSI, and serial killers.

Other than that, it’s food and drink,
Something special today, I think.
Lobster and sparkling wine awaits,
I’ll relish that, till the plague abates.

So do we say: Hip hip hooray!
I got to 92 today?
I miss my friends and family
The casual chat and cup of tea;

No great disaster and awful fears
Just f*****g boring me to tears.
