A Life

A Life

I sometimes sit back and think of my life,
of what I have been and what I have done.
I think of the good times and also the sad,
of laughter and tears and fears that I had.

I have been let down many times with various friends
Some who are good and some who are false.
I’ve been bullied and cried as adult and child.
I have been through illnesses and seen loved ones die.

I have travelled abroad and seen many things but
nothing compares to seeing my child.
A baby, a man a wonderous thing
The joy in my heart from my husbands love

I sometimes think back and smile at my life and
smile for the future of all things to come.
One day I will die and hope that I’m missed but the
life I have lived I will never regret.
